And b...more The diet industry is a billion-dollar business, in which women and men are eager to spend their hard-earned cash. Google “diet” and you get to see an enormous variety of diets, all claiming to be the best solution to lose fat or weight rapidly. And before you know it, you’ve picked up those expensive shakes or protein bars, or worse: a subscription to a reoccurring food supply with a similar taste to the food served in a budget airliner!

If all these diets are the best solution, then why is it that the majority of people who have tried them end up back at square one? I find it very difficult and also embarrassing to tell a good friend that after a year of dieting she does not look one hair thinner, even when her own research-based mirror says so.

Dieting starts with choosing the right foods to eat. We all know that. Dieting also starts with letting go of those soft drinks that contain mountains of sugar. We all know that, too. What the majority of people forget, is that the most important (read: imperative) component of dieting costs absolutely nothing, and is within your reach: your brain.

Ignoring those delicious foods, your favourite snack, as well as your afternoon beer has to do with how well your brain is trained to resist temptation. In order words: if eating is one of your habits, chances are a diet is not going to work. Eating bars with fewer calories is then not going to work either, as you will just eat more of these until satisfied. It is also not about starving yourself by cutting calories in half. His book was developed to provide you essential information to make you succeed in losing fat. Besides proving information about every component of his method, he discusses topics every person should know about when trying to lose fat. To my surprise, Chris also wrote what is missing in other books: how to make the habit change happen. He does that by providing detailed information about almost every component of our eating habits you can think of: from sugar addiction to genes to environment.

If you are planning to start a diet, do your homework first. Buy this book and educate yourself by following Chris Closset’s easy to follow 7-day system. After 7 days (and do not speed this up, as you need time to reflect on the material), your view of food as well as your eating habits will have changed significantly, and will give your weight loss goals a much better chance of succeeding.

If you are fed up with spending too much money on expensive diet systems, spend a little more on this book, and save A LOT on getting results afterwards.(less)
