Not sure if this will help, at all, but here goes. How about biographies of current people who use welding in their day to day (OCC, hot rod building, motorcycles, trains, bridges, skyscrapers, construction, etc.). The idea came to me after I read your post. My hubby is a mechanic/with a welding background and he enjoys lots of those shows on TLC & Discovery channel. I know they write books for teens about those guys, I've seen them-just can't remember where. This would provide background information into why welding is important. Great book for all who deal with education, law enforcement, or are parents. This is a culmination of a 10 year compilation of the reports-there were signs-so many, yet they went un-heeded or ignored. Law enforcement and education has made major changes with regards to hostage and shooting protocols as well as bullying education and the reporting of suspicious behaviors! There are sad moments of course, but it's a rec. read!
