A nice, easy read set in the medieval period. The two main characters, notorious thieves Royce and Hadrian, take a job that lands them accused of murdering the king. As they struggle to save their own hides, they surprisingly find themselves engaged in the honorable act of defending the prince and princess' lives. I loved the touch of magic and the legends laced into the story added a nice depth. Add to that the political intrigue and MacGyver-like puzzles, and this was a fast-paced novel that I finished in a few days--great for travel!

My one disappointment is that the characters became oversimplified towards the end of the novel.
