I have read two books by Curtis Sittenfield, I feel that she really has a way with words. The characters had my same thought process, not always perfect and planned out, but random, and not always making sense. The story line is not necesarily deep, but the way she writes, makes it so interesting, and you connect with the characters immediately. ...less

Vonnegut has a very interesting way of writing, that captures you from the very beginning- whenever I read one of his books I have to be mentally ready to engage myself knowing that it will take a lot of thinking and work as I read. This was a little too sci fi for my usual liking, but his writing style keeps me hooked. IF you have never read any vonnegut, you should try one, just to get a taste of his writing style. It is truly one of a kind...less

I love tess gerritsen books, and as a quick read with little thought needed she reigns queen. I love pretty much all of her books for that reason. I can't read too many of them one after the other, but after reading a heavy thought provoking book, Gerritsen is usually what I crave. She just needs to keep up with me. I have read most of her book twice. ...less

I loved the idea that this book was narrated by the perspective of Death. I have always been fascinated and interested in books about WWII. This book explored how it was to be a german in the times of Hitler. There were many who did not agree with his actions, but they had no choice, they had to at least pretend that they agreed with the German Reich, or they were killed. The Author, had an amazing depth to all of the characters, especially Liesel. His writing style was refreshing, and made you constantly think even when you had stopped reading. This book explores the power of Words, which I also found so profound. I loved this book! Everyone should read it. ...less
