A story within a story, I loved this book. Characters I felt I'd like to know and a glimpse into the Southern way of life where my "roots" are. Plus, love the cooking part, I would have loved to own this cafe!

An all time favorite, I have read this book many, many times. I am always surprised at how this story could be taken and applied to these times with just a few changes. A slow decent into maddness and just how hard growing up can be.
