Nothing like a big dose of Henry VIII's craziness to entertain you !
<br/>I actually listened to this saga on audio book. The narrators were perfect for the three perspectives : Anne of Cleves, Jane Boelyn, and Kathyrn Howard. I couldn't wait to drive somewhere so that I could listen. What a soap opera ! Philippa Gregory knows how to share a character's &quot;inner thoughts&quot; so well that you empasize with them even if they are not nice people.

All I can say is..... I haven't been this excited about a book for a long time. I agree with the reviewers who said that this sequel to The Hunger Games is even better. Like my daughter, I can't wait until the third book- and I usually am not into &quot;series&quot; books !

I listened to the audio book. The author is the host of NPR's &quot;Fresh Air&quot;- a professional book reviewer. I found her voice very soothing (I am picky about the readers on audio books). She spoke about her favorite genres and titles and how they connect to her life (predominately Irish-Catholic influences).

This is a middle school age book, but anyone could learn something about integrity from it. The main character, Catherine, has an autistic brother. She also befriends a boy who must use a wheelchair and word cards with which to communicate. Catherine is in a constant tug-of-war between her feelings of embarrassment and the loyalty and love she feels for her brother and friend.

This is one SERIOUS book. I finished it on the plane flying home from Portland one minute before we got off. Perfect timing, because I would have refused to leave my seat until I read the last word. What a haunting and thought-provoking book. It is an amazing look at survival in a postapocalyptic world.

Ummmm.... I wasn't sure if I was going to like this one, even after 2o plus pages. However, as the author developed her quirky characters and brought in the effects of the war (WW 11), I was won over. I also found the letter format pleasing and learned some geography, too- didn't know about all those islands in the Channel.

This is an intermediate level children's novel. It is one of my favorite themes: human-insect friendships. Don't laugh ! Who doesn't love James and the Giant Peach ? Anyway, This would be an excellent read-aloud for 3rd-5th graders. It has humor, art history and mystery.
