I thought it was a good, easy read (I read the whole book in one night)
I couldn't really relate to the main character as much as I thought i would but, a lot of the questions she struggled with were pretty common for women my age and in my circumstances (married, suburban, kids) but, the end was just weird. I never really understood if she really went back in time and changed the outcome, if what happened in her past was all just a dream, or if what happened in her future was all just a dream? But, then also was any of that the point? written in 2006 by a woman from Roswell (first generation American born to Cuban parents) from the perspective of her mother, in the form of a diary set in 1958-61 when Castro took over -
very interesting esp in these times . . .
obviously we are not experiencing the violence that occurred in Cuba but some of the other similiarities gave me chills.

I want half stars for my reviews, because I am somewhere between a 3 and 4 right now.
I really got into each character's story (or more accurately snippet of their story) I was disappointed every time I was left hanging and each character's life wasn't tied up with a pretty bow . . .
About half way through the book the whole thing just got
really sad and depressing :-(
