The Chronicles of Ancient Darkness comprises six books and one of author Michelle Paver's strengths is her ability to make each book fresh, captivating and engrossing. What is more impressive is that each adventure is so rich and full of depth that it can stand alone and appeal to both teens and adults.
I always approach the last book in a much-loved series with mixed emotions - sadness to say goodbye to beloved characters, apprehension if the author will do the tale justice (and withstand the urge to go for the sappy, sentimental route!) and excitement to see where the final journey will end.
"Ghost Hunter" ticked all the boxes. An easy but engrossing read. Twists and turns aplenty. A fitting au revoir to the characters.

Years ago a friend recommended "One for the Money" by Janet Evanovich and I soon fell in love with the hilarious Stephanie Plum series.
However the last few books have found me disillusioned with both Stephanie Plum and Janet Evanovich and I haven't pre-ordered, borrowed or bought her latest adventure. The magic had gone.
That being said, there's still a glimmer of the fun and laughter that first appealed to me in the 'Between the Numbers' series.
"Plum Spooky" is the fourth outing in this series (the 'Between the Numbers' series) and it's fun, entertaining and even made me laugh out (once).
Not her finest work but definitely not her worst and overall, I found it entertaining. ]]>
