Pi is a kid who was been shipwrecked in the Pacific Ocean. The story is the story of his survival. Early in the book, before the shipwreck, he is studying religion, looking into many different religions. His father is also a zoo keeper. The book is written in a flashback, as Pi tells his story many years later.
I enjoyed it.
You can borrow my copy of "life of Pi" now that mom is done with it. I thought that it was an interesting story with a bit of a twist to it.
I am enjoying "Life of Pi" very much. Both Rebecca and my sister recommended it as well as a co-worker. So far it's excellent, I should finish it up tomorrow or the next day. I am reading Rebecca's copy, I imagine she'll let me send it on to you if you are interested, although she may want this one back.
How was your weekend in Texas?
I agree this is alot of fun, I am certainly enjoying this site. And I LOVE our bookgroup! I am sure it is the best one on the entire site!
Also really like your quotes. I need to get going on that!
Well, gotta go read.
I have heard a little about the new Alice Hoffman book. I am looking forward to it. I enjoy her writing.
I posted back on your discussions. I seems to have lots of books bubbling in my mind right now. lol
I added you and Mom as moderators as well so we all have control. Whee!!
So if you come up with a cool picture that would be great!
I am looking into making book shelves for our past (and current) lists.
"oregon to utah - nature girl's unite"
I think we should use that one! I love the super hero nature of it!
I think we can both be monitors. Not that it really matters. I kind of like "reading from Oregon to Utah"
Should it be public, private or restricted?
"The English American" sounds like it could be interesting.
It looks like we can start a group on here for our book club. What should we call it?
I'll have to look up the "English American," see what I think. We should start thinking about our next book list.
I bought a copy of "Bridget Jones' Diary" the other day for a couple of bucks. If you are interested I can pass it along when I am done.
I am reading an Alice Hoffman book right now and thinking about a Kris Radish book after that (before "What's Eating Gilbert Grape."
I felt amazingly uneducated and under-read (is that a word?) when I took the never-ending book quiz! Oh well. I am looking forward to seeing what books friends have read and enjoyed, as well as what not to bother with. My sister and niece who both read alot and talk books are here now, and also some of my other book group. It'll be interesting to see how this evolves!
Hi Lea--How is everything going? I tried the never-ending book quiz, boy do I not know much! I haven't read 99% of the books the questions are about! Or it was so long ago that I don't remember!
This should be a fun site.
How is "Glass Castle" going? I'm making headway on "Julia's Chocolates." I see what you mean about cringe worthy moments, but am still enjoying it.
Hope all is well!
Hey there! Another fun book site! it was recommended to me by one of my co-workers who I talk books with all the time. Lots of books to put on here huh?
