Loved this book, and not just because I used to intern with Gayle back when we were young and hungry. This is the kind of young adult fiction I wish all young women were reading. Her protagonist was someone to root for, and was full of promise and self-confidence. The writing was subtle, yet emotional. I'm so happy for Gayle's success with this book. ]]>
Loved this book, and not only because I once was one of Janelle Brown's magazine editors. It's an honest and heart-bending account of three women's meltdowns and had me laughing as much as crying. I wish Janelle had spent more pages on the heroines' revenge at the end, but was grateful for what she conjured. I can't wait to see what Janelle has under her sleeves next. ]]>

So after reading the first three books of this dismaying series, I am now more fully convinced of how awful these books are for the young women reading them in droves. I debated trying the fourth to see if there was any vindication for Stephenie Meyer, but after reading user reviews I was so disturbed by what she was able to come up with for the final book that I won't bother. I can't give this book any stars it is that bad in my mind. The suggestion that a high schooler's entire life would revolve around a rich, attractive vampire is offensive to me. There is more to life--even in high school--than getting so hung up on a boy that you're willing to sacrifice your life for him. Grow up, Bella. ]]>
