I thought this was kind of funny in a melodramatic way. (spoilers) First, I think the moral of the story is don't love a man who is young enough to be your son. You will get cancer. And die. And second, Mann writes about women talking about their womanhood in the way Austen writes about women talking about men. I'm sorry. A very quick read (we're talking an hour max) and really great. If I tried to describe the plot to someone it would sound so silly, but it works. I enjoyed Block's book Echo for it's similar gritty yet glimmering treatment of LA. I also like the mixture of fantasy and reality in both books. ]]>
