To kill a mockingbird was the best book I read for school reading. My teachers (in 6th-8th grade) always picked something that a pre-adolescent wouldn't appreciate except when we did To Kill a Mockingbird.

Nophoto-u-50x66 Mockingbird and Catcher are pretty safe choices. You should recommend something more obscure. :-)
