well, hemingway is by far my favorite writer and i consider TSAR the best example of why, besides maybe the short story "hills like whit elephants". he has a way of creating these really mundane, word-consumed characters while not giving us any more than the raw details. we are left to read into every word, action and silence that he gives to us...and i just love that. it's very true to life, in my opinion. i can see how you'd either love it or hate it, though.
