I was curious about the book because the school district sent a letter home to inform parents about the assignment. "Hole in my Life" is essentially a morality tale centered around the misadventures of a young man straight out of high school who finds himself getting involved with smugglers and dope, which all eventually leads him to prison and an attempt to straighten out his life. A good story, funny at times but not glorifying. Some details about the worst of prisoner life border on the graphic, but only go far enough to get the point across without being gruesome.(less)
