Inaamin ko na nahirapan akong basahin ito sa simula dahil sa hindi na ako sanay sa pagbabasa ng wikang Tagalog. Nagsimula ang kuwento na medyo mabagal dahilan para mabagot ako ng kaunti. Ngunit natuwa ako nang mabanggit ang mga bagay na uso o kilala pa noong kabataan ko. Ilan sa mga ito ang Super Trump, Bazooka Joe at ang himpilan sa radyo na 93.9 DWKC. Marami rin namang mga nabanggit na tao na hindi ko kilala. Maaaring hindi maunwaaan ito ng mga bagong kabataan sapagkat hindi na nila naabutan ang mga bagay o tao na tinutukoy sa kuwento. Dahil dito, mas mairerekomenda ko ang Kapitan Sino sa mga Pilipinong isinilang noong dekada ‘80 o mas nauna pa. Ngunit hindi ibig sabihin nito ay hindi na ito pwede sa mga bagong kabataan. Ang Kapitan Sino ang isa sa mga magandang libro na kapupulutan ng mabubuting aral ng sinumang Pilipino, bata man o matanda, mayaman o kaya naman ay mahirap. ]]>

I would highly recommend this book to those who like Greek mythology. It used to be one of my favorite subjects back in high school. But that’s not to say you won’t enjoy it if you’re not a fan of the myths. The book does introduce each character briefly and being an adventure novel, it’s still a captivating read even for those with no mythical background. *wink* ]]>

I would highly recommend Screwtape Letters to those who are looking for ways to see this world from a new vantage point. I imagine that even non-believers should find the things described here pretty much interesting too. Bottom line is, you don’t need to be a Christian to enjoy reading The Screwtape Letters. If you’re like most people who just wants to live a good and rewarding life, then this book is for you. However, a good life does not necessarily equate to an easy life as you may well know. Just read the book to find out more.
This book ranks quite high now in my “must-read again and again” list. It’s one of those rare occasions when I felt as if the book was specially written for me. It’s a great book that I can just pick up, read a page at random and still walk away with something that I could use to reflect on my life. Truly a classic. ]]>
