As I read each page, I can hear my 8th grade English teacher yelling things like, "Show me don't tell me" in my head. Seriously, this is poorly written, even after a complete edit by the Author. Unfortunately this is my first Stephen King book. I wonder if I should continue to read his other books.

In all fairness, Stephen King was 19 when he originally came up and wrote much of this book. I can see times when he has obviously taken events from his mundane 19 year old life and translated them into some mundane fantasy world allegory. I can see Stephen Kind now, "Oh I just broke up with my girlfriend, I'll make her a character that was burned as a witch and lace it with completely personal descriptions that wont make sense to anyone but me"...(less) "
