However, it was somewhat Debbie Downer, but not in that way that tugged at my heartstrings. I disliked pretty much every single character. Maybe they were all written so realistically that they were unlikable. Although depressing, it ended on a surprisingly upbeat note. It's really about family dynamics, but the backdrop is interesting: Niagara Falls and its history, including a number of suicides and (unrelated) the toxic pollution of local chemical companies in the area. A lot of that is based on real life research. (less) "
