While I enjoyed learning how Ghandi saw his life, there were times when the incessant name dropping made it difficult to focus. Perhaps I should read a biography of him, and then return to his autobiography.

Loved it! Not only did I enjoy learning about the psychology of great (male) leaders throughout history, I also loved hearing that the depression and mania they experienced may have contributed to their greatness.

Gautama Buddha
“All that we are is the result of what we have thought: it is founded on our thoughts and made up of our thoughts. If a man speak or act with an evil thought, suffering follows him as the wheel follows the hoof of the beast that draws the wagon.... If a man speak or act with a good thought, happiness follows him like a shadow that never leaves him.”
Gautama Buddha

Kurt Vonnegut Jr.
“A purpose of human life, no matter who is controlling it, is to love whoever is around to be loved.”
Kurt Vonnegut Jr., The Sirens of Titan

Bernard M. Baruch
“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.”
Bernard M. Baruch

E.B. White
“If the world were merely seductive, that would be easy. If it were merely challenging, that would be no problem. But I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day.”
E.B. White

Sylvia Plath
“I took a deep breath and listened to the old brag of my heart. I am, I am, I am.”
Sylvia Plath, The Bell Jar
