Loved Certain Girls, your other books, blog, articles, babies and am almost completely comfortable with having little context for Rock of Love.
I'll understand if you'd prefer to hold off on my question for awhile, and I'll dance around it for the time being. The ending of the novel was particularly powerful, apt and yet difficult.
Have readers been giving you grief about the conclusion?

Jumping forward before I disappear offline for who knows how long, the opening of Certain Girls: was this scenario triggered by any real life incident? How did you know that this was the scene/flashback you wanted to use for the opening?

Hi,
I became a fan with your first novel, "Good in Bed." I love a character that makes you cheer out loud! "In Her Shoes" had me sobbing at the end, can't beat a good sister story. My book club chose "Little Earthquakes," last month.
I made a poster-size chart of the 4 characters to see who could remember the most about each women.

I was wondering what's next, another book, movie or any thoughts on a TV sitcom?

Hi. I am a huge fan of all of your books. The end of "Certain Girls" made my mouth drop and had me in tears. But still, it was a very enjoyable read. Are you planning on doing a third installment to the life of Cannie? I would also love to read a sequel to "Little Eartquakes". I truly loved all the characters and would be interested in seeing how life is going for them. Any plans????

Jennifer - Big fan b/c I used to live in Philly and love reading about real women's lives. I read a lot (librarian), so I will pick books up and read a little and if it doesn't suit me, I move onto the next. I couldn't put your down!
Your books just make me laugh out loud at the crazy situations and cry too when your characters are dealing with the difficulties of life. I really think that's what makes your writing style so appealing. Thank you for sharing your imagination and life with us. Keep 'em coming!

You are by far my favorite author and I have read every book you've put out. Thank you so much for writing characters that I can relate to.
A few years ago I thought I read on your site that HBO was picking up Good in Bed to do a mini series on. Did anything ever happen with that? Are any of your other books being made into movies?

I have read In Her Shoes and Good in Bed. It was a friend who introduced me to your written word and I am always impressed with how you eloquently express yourself through verse.
My question though is did you feel as though the producers of the film In Her Shoes did you justice? Honestly, I had no desire to see the film only because I loved the book so much that I was afraid that the movie would not capture the entire essence of what you were trying to portray. I recently bought the movie but still have not watched it. That is how biased I have become. Sad!
My friends who saw the movie loved it but I told all of them to BUY & READ Jennifer's book, In Her Shoes!
Just wanted to know your thoughts on this.

Hi! I absolutely love all your books. I haven't yet read 'Certain Girls' but its in my pile right now. I wanted to see how you felt about 'In Her Shoes' the movie and if you liked how if differed from your book. Usually books that are made into movies aren't as good as the book, but this one is one of the few exceptions. :)
Also, where do you get your ideas? Every book is very relateable and realistic!

Just love your books...As a mom of three, living in the proverbial suburbs, your book 'Goodnight Nobody' hit home...I loved Kate!! Any more sequels in the works??? And oh, I have to add I have passed on more copies of both that book and 'Little Earthquakes'...and everyone ::loved:: them...thanks so much for your writing and allowing us to "chat" with you on goodreads...as for 5 month olds...frozen washcloths and bagels (the unfrozen kind, fresh from the bakery) help teething...words of experience, not wisdom from this mom of 3!

I just love "Good In Bed!" I love the thought that it is a touching, fell-good story and it indeed made me feel better as a woman. That, for me, is the essence of chick/woman literature [whatever it is called, really...:)]

My question is--how in the world have you been shadowing me without my noticing?!?!?!
Really, I had to keep putting In Her Shoes down to weep because it reminded me so much of my relationship with my own sister.
Then came Goodnight Nobody. Again, are you like in my closet? Am I "The Rita Show" and only you have a hook-up? It's uncanny how some things just spoke so personally.
There just must be a lot of us out there who are living these different lives and you just nail it. I know all of your material can't be entirely autobiographical, so you just have a real knack for getting inside different women's skins and telling about it.

Good in Bed is really an amazing reading material. The character is very natural and yet loveable. I'm happy when In Her Shoes is also translated in Indonesia.
I'm also a writer. That's why I hope you can share some writing tips, how to write inspirational novels like yours?

I love your books and was hooked immediately when I read Good in Bed. You are one of my favorite authors. Your characters are so real and down to earth. Their struggles are so similar to so many struggles that we face in daily life.
Where does the inspiration for your characters and their stories come from?
What process do you go through when writing your books?
