Best Wedding Music
Hi all:
Does anyone have some suggestions for fabulous wedding music? I'm looking for some great choices that aren't stereotypical. Seriously, does anyone want to hear Wagners wedding march again?
Cheers
Elizabeth
The 4th movement of JD Zelenka's G minor trio sonata is possibly the most wonderful thing I have ever heard. It is unusual, timeless, joyous and - I think - perfect for a wedding.
If you click on the link here and then click on the music player you'll hear the whole movement. You don't have to sign up or anything.

I absolutely love this piece of music. I am amazed it is not better known. If I was getting married this is certainly the piece I would have! It is definitely fabulous.
Zelenka was a baroque composer - JS Bach was an admirer!
If you want something a bit more mainstream, Handel's The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba is a popular wedding choice. Here is a vid on youtube

The love duet sung at Manon's wedding in the film 'Manon des Source'. It sounds like Fauré to me but may be by Jean-Claude Petit. A simple, idealistic song of love and dedication (if I understand the French!)
