1061341 I am wanting to read this in partnership with one of Michael Pollan's books for a book group discussion. Which would be best? I love Kingsolver, and this book makes me love her more. I think it should be read by everyone!

Nophoto-u-25x33 My husband read "In Defense of Food" at the same time I was reading "Animal Vegetable Miracle." We always had great conversations at the end of the day about each author's takes on FOOD and the way our culture trivializes, villifies, and alientates us from our food. The pair made for good discussion in our household.

322421 I'm just starting this book after already reading Omnivore's Dilemma. They'd definitely make a good pairing. I haven't read any of Pollan's other works, so I don't know if he covers a lot of the same ground in Defense and Botany as he does in Omnivore's. The only word of caution from me would be that Omnivore's is large and (at times) dense. You're going to be asking a lot of your book club to do both of these books.
