Each book leads into the other and ties up very well at the end. So i will tell you about the first one the Warriors Heir. Its about a kid who was born with a heart condition that requires him to take meds everyday. One day he forgets to take them and notices that he feels alot better and is stronger he hurles some kid across a feild durring a soccer game without touching him. He finds out he is one of the last survivers of the warriors guild and is destined to fight to the death in a tournament that is held by the other guilds.

I was totally hooked from the start too, I like the books because there's always something happening, and there's a lot of drama. I've also got a few of my friends hooked on it now. Although I thought that the 5th book, Hunted, seemed kinda like a filler, and that it could have been more interesting.
Have you read the Vampire Academy series yet? Cause if you like these books I'm sure that you'll like the Vampire Academy ones too, I thought that they were even better, I loved them.
Heather wrote: "I'm currently reading Tempted by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast. I'm almost done and really like it so far."OOH! I can't wait to get further in the series. I'm only on Chapter9 of "Marked" and I'm already hooked! Haha!
I'm currently reading Tempted by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast. I'm almost done and really like it so far.

Right now, I'm reading In the Belly of the Bloodhound Being an Account of a Particularly Peculiar Adventure in the Life of Jacky Faber by L.A. Meyer.

Has she read The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants? One of the characters on the series has a conflicted relationship with her single father (her mother committed suicide). That plot thread continues into the second book in the series when the character realizes her father has been keeping her maternal grandmother a secret.
This same character also loses her virginity in the first book, but it is alluded to rather then shown, and the emotional consequences are depicted realistically as the character has a pretty tough time dealing with that part of it.
As a bonus, the first two books were also made into pretty decent movies, so maybe after she reads the books she could watch the movies....
I hope this help!

have a question for this group. My friend's daughter is 11, and splits her time living with her single dad and her mom. She's going through a tough time with her dad. She feels he doesn't understand that she's changing emotionally and physically. Because he's divorced she also views him as lonely and even somewhat off putting to others. He is moody and has a bad temper, but clearly loves her. She's very bright and rather wise for so young a girl. I'm wondering whether any of you have heard of any very good YA novels about fathers and daughters. her parents allow a certain amount of sex, etc. in her novel choices, but I can't give her a book that has a lot of sex and cussing, if you know what I mean.
Thanks so much.
I just got my hands on a copy of
and I cannot wait to read it! I just read the first sentence and it sent shivers of down my spine...and then I ended up reading the whole first chapter before I realized that I had some homework that needed to be completed...

I just started Sovay, just finished Graceling."
Is Graceling appropriate for 7th graders?
i jst finished reading the fourth book in Kissing Coffins. going to the library tomorrow coz the book i got on hold is finally there! called Being Nikki by MegCabot. the frst one Airhead was hilarious, and i ended up doing brain transplants for my school essay because of it :D
I didn't know where to go to introduce myself but I'm new here. I am an avid reader. Well just started about a year ago. My name is Terra. Right now I am reading Ink Exchange by Melissa Marr! :-)
I'm re-reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I lost my first copy in the fourth grade but never really got to read it. :(But! I am on about page sixty. :] Good times.
I just finished Catching Fire and it was amazing. Now I am reading Love Is The Higher Law by David Levithan and it is really sad but good so far!
I just finished "Jessica's guide to dating on the dark side" and now i'm reading the first goosebumps book "welcome to dead house" and "spell Hunter" by RJ Anderson
I am reading The Tapestry: The Hound of Rowan. By Henry Neff. So far it is really fun. Typical, hero fights against evil stuff but that is the stuff I like.
I loved the Uglies series! I stopped after the third one because the last book is through a different character's perspective, so I didn't try it. Probably should of, but it was character's I grew attached to.
I am reading Pretties by Scott Westerfeld. I loved Uglies and I am really liking this one also.
I just finished reading Fablehaven: Secrets of the Dragon Sanctuary by Brandon Mull. It was excellent.
I'm reading The Life of Pi and Elsewhere, but I'm getting tired of them.....yawn. Is there anything else I could read? It stinks that I can't get any library book instantly and free, or else I probably would have read every book on my to read list by now:(
I love it when it rains too! My creative juices begin to flow when the rains starts to pour. Currently, I am reading The Percy Jackson series (Book two: The Sea of Monsters. I enjoyed the first one, but heard the books get even better as the series goes on.
I'm not reading anything right now. If I want to read something (since it's summer) I have to buy a book and I hate buying books I've never read simply because I may be wasting money on a book I dont like. But I KNOW I want to buy and read "My Sister's Keeper", you know, the one coming out in the movies. I read the plot and it definitely sounds like one I'd love. But there's one I've wanted to read since school but I can't remember the name of it...it's bugging me.
Just finished Wake and Fade a few days ago.Currently reading Howl's Moving Castle and P.S. I Loathe You.
Will start on Along for the Ride, shortly.
