Tosca: Hola chica =) I fell in LOVE with Conlan. But that was before I read Ven's story. Altho I liked (in Conlan's story) Riley more than Erin (in Ven's story). I have Wild thing and Shifter (the Atlantis novella's) but I have not read them yet. I will have to get back to you on those =) And I have the next 2 books saved on my paperbackswap.com Wish List. Hehe. I really am looking forward to this series and have even recommded to some of my fiends that are S.Kenyon fans.

Did you know you can become a fan of authors? There is a button under there profile picture and you can position them #1 #2 etc. I just saw that. Alyssa Day is #1 so far.

No problem, Nichole. The challenges are fun, but even I, don't sign up for everything.

Reading, for me, is meant to be fun, not a burden, and when you feel you "have" to and not because you "want" to, then that is like being in school, where we are "forced" to read something. Not the goal of this group, when I planned the challenges.

So, Nichole and everybody else, feel free to take a breather, or pick and choose, or just come by to chatter in the discussions.

I guess I was thinking more of the PNR challenge. But also, if I'm going to read non-genre books, I probably won't be able to churn out quite as many in a month. Plus the fact that as much as I enjoy the challenges, I think I need a break where I feel a little more free to read at a slower pace...
So I decided that in March I'm going to keep up with the different group reads, and then I picked some non-genre books that I've been wanting to read. I've been getting burned out on romance, and I also try to be a little bit more well rounded than I've been lately. :)

I guess depending on what the challenge is, I may be able to fit my choices in. I'll just have to wait and see!

LOL...I'm with you, Lori. I'll wander once in a while into another genre, but I need my romance fix constantly. I guess, that's why I called this the romance readers challenge group..LOL..

Still, for those who wants to read non-romance books, as long as they meet the category qualification, you can definitely used them...no problem with that.

There are books other than romance?!!! Certainly not on my TBR pile LOL. Well, okay there's some Urban Fantasy but even those have to have a little romance. Now that I've discovered SciFi Romance...I'll be adding even more romance to the pile. Life is good!

Now that Feb with Valentine's Day and romance themes out of the way.... I'm guessing the other monthly challenges might have a bit more wiggle room to get some non-romance genre books onto our reading lists. (I did however manage to get a James Bond movie companion book onto my Feb list under the "need a book with kiss, heart or love in the title" as it's titled "Kiss Kiss Bang! Bang!" lol)

No, challenges in the Romance Readers Challenge Group are not genre-specific..as Kasia has kindly pointed out, although most of us read romances, which is also fine.

Only my PNR challenge which I run in the PNR group is genre-specific.

And Nichole, you don't have to do all 10 categories..you can only do 3, 5 or 8...or just hang out here and chit-chat..always happy to hear from you.

I don't think the books you include in your challenges have to be genre specific. Mine weren't, at least not all.

Hey Kenjii - how are ya? I enjoy Alyssa Day's 'Warriors of Poseidon' series. My fav so far is Lord Vengeance (didn't so much get into Conlan's story, although I did find Bastien and then his sister's stories quite interesting). I see that Lord Justice and Lord Brennan's books are coming soon-ish. Can't wait!

If the Darkest night is bk 2 in te series I rec. you start that. I liked that (even the teenage-ish personality of Anya. Gena has a way of making you like her characters/setting).

Second, I did enjoy Dark Protector I gave it *** stars I believe, but not to the point where I am curious enough to want to continue the series. The author does a fine job with the characters/setting and creating a type of warriors/villain to be interested in reading. But it was a bit generic to a point.******a bit of a spoiler**** The heroine wants to save the hero. The hero is cursed.the hero is forbidden to fall in love with humans(or something like that) etc.

I'd rec. a better warrior-themed series that I like almost as much as Sherrilyn Kenyon. The warriors are Atlantean and they also fight vamps. The Warriors of Poseidon series by Alyssa Day. Goodness the sexuality was a shocker for sure. Read it so see what I mean =)I am awaiting my turn to come on the PBS WL for book #4 =). Let me kbow what you decide.

Tosca, I started Bitten last night and am loving it. Let me know if you come across any good M/M books. I just got Soul Mates Bound by Blood from Amazon and am looking forward to starting it. I have a m/m erotica shelf here. Check it out for some that I've either read or were suggested to me.

That's a great list there, Lori. All except two or three I've read. Which one did you decide to start with? I enjoyed Moon Called but then I'm a Briggs fan. Wolf Tales - I forget what the plot was because the sex was scorching LOL There was one, I'm sure. I have to admit all of her books make me forget the plot because I'm always anticipating the next sex scene LOL Actually, I've realised I'm prob not helping you at all LOL

I havn't uploaded all of my serial harlequin romances to goodreads but didn't find her in my collection when I checked my Desires shelf. A quick scan of my local library's online catalog shows 3 of her books: Craving Beauty, Awaken Her Senses, and Secrets of the Marriage Bed. I choose Awaken Her Senses and put it on hold.

A lot of us chose Nalini Singh because she's from New Zealand.

I have not found any new zealand romance authors on my shelves. I checked all the links posted. Anyone have suggestions for books set in new zealand? I have many set in Australia but that's as close as I can get.

I actually have a very busy life with two hobbies that I'm passionate about and that keep me very busy. Some weeks, like this one, I don't get to read as much as I'd like. Giving up TV has freed up a lot of time and since I work from home, I sneak breaks during the day to get in an hour or so of reading. I also try and knock off work around 4:00 and then read until midnight...or later sometimes...with just a break to fix dinner. I usually read while I eat LOL. I've had something to do every night this week that kept me out late so tonight I'm looking forward to several hours of reading. It's my night to have my Dad over for dinner so I gotta feed him first....darn it! Just kidding.

Yz: what is a "life" anyway? Whaat can be defined as having a "life"? I like my reading and trying to improve my self image for health reasons and to better my self esteem. Outside of raising my awarness. What is life (about) really?

Don't worry about us compulsive readers. We just probably don't have a life...LOL...and all we can do is organized our book shelves and planned our reading schedules..LOL

I have had to list my books on my Google Docs. I plan to read 2 chaps from each of my BOM books. I don't know if it was a day or what. But I have it mapped. If I like one of the other I will skip ahead and read the whole thing and discuss it on the spoilers thread early. Then join the weekly discussions as the group catches up.

I had to go back and look at the beginning. The 14 and 18 book line-ups, threw me.

You guys still amaze me with how quick you get everyhing together.

I have decided that I am going to take off all my planned feb-challenge reads. I am getting into far too many new authors etc. So instead of having an organized list I am going to work with my 'impulse' reading but with an eye out for my feb-challenge categories.

i have like 9 and i think i am nuts to read all of them.. but i am going to try and read them all.. the most i read a month is like 4 one a week.. .. hmmm well i guess less TV and Computer and more Book... :) its not like i watch a lot of TV.. i am just on the computer a lot...

LMAO - oh, who knew those kissing couples would be such an adventure to find? Oh and hmm how come a lot of books with the word 'kiss' in the title don't actually have people kissing to match? And the word 'embrace' doesn't mean they are neither. In fact, some of the couples on the covers I've seen at work look quite combative ;)

Right after posting that question I thought of Christine Feehan. I've been wanting to read her Ghostwalkers series, so she counts as a "new author" for your PNR February challenge. Her books are also on librarylass's shelves, so if I read the first two I can get two categories with that one. Perfect!

You can give Christine Feehan a try. I love her Ghostwalkers series. It's more of a sci-fi romance with enhanced soldiers. You can also check out her Dark/Carpathian series.
