I am going to have to read Vampire Kisses. Lots of people say Alexander Sterling. I think I would like him better than Edward.

It was written by Polodori at Lake Geneva Switzerland when he was with Marry Shelly who was writing Fankenstien, and Lord Byron. They challenged each other to write a horror story. I forget what Byron wrote. He was a poet mainly.
Oh one of those cards. I have one and my own personal set of books. Obviously you have acess to a computer. Just go to horror masters hit print and take it with you. You won't find John Polodori in most librarys. Penguin Classic Vamp stories is good If it was there it was stolen. All the really cool books get stolen sooner of later by some jerk.
Really its so sad. For your favorite stories you have to get personal copies. I have a Santeria shrine in my room. I am going to put my personal copy of Carmilla in it.
Is that the guy who did Braum Stokers Dracula. Braum wrote dracula. It has Keanu Reeves? That one is probably the best version of Dracula ever done. In that one scene where Dracula is talking to Johnathan Harker(Keanu Reeves) in the castle and he is in the long red robe and just floats away instead of walking and you realize he is a ghost. The undead yeah that movie is so artuflly done.

I wish I could have been around to pound the stake into Edward. You know Michael Moore could have created a series around Abby Normal the Goth girl in You Suck. But rather than write a trashy series to make money. He let the book You Suck stand on its own. As a hilarious masterpiece of Vampire and human satire.

I like female vamps that were turned young ages 18 to 25. But have been vampires for a couple hundred years. So they have the beauty of youth and the wisdom of age. C
Eric from Dead Until Dark is pretty cool. He was a Viking when he was turned. His consort and child Pam is one cool enternal 19 year old bad ass little vampiress. She loves being a vamp. No regrets whatsoever.

My favorite vampires are bad ass. Carmilla, Dracula, Pam(from Sookie), Jody(from you suck,Darla(from Buffy. But mostly Carmilla and Dracula because they are classic vampires. Their characters have depth,substance,and mystery. Carmilla is easilly the most sensual and classy of the female vampires. Also she has occult powers and a powerful personality. I can picture myself falling in love with Carmilla. Dracula I like because he is the most powerful and sucessful of all vampires. His character is evil,educated, and cuning. He is more than just a common vampire. He is a master sorcerer and vorlock. A king in life as well as death. As vampires go he is successful,ambitious,and wealthy. But it is this ambition that leads to his death. He strays away from a land were he is all powerful and has a private gypsy army,castle,and wife's. To seek adventure and conquest in a new land. It is his overconfidence and arrogance that prove his undoing. Despite all his evil deeds and the abandonment of God he has prospered. We can sympathise with him. He has managed to survive,and lived into an age were science is more powerful than majic. Yet both he and Carmilla let us know. That despite all mans scientific learning. There are somethings that remain beyond rational explanation. Things that are in the realm of the spiritual and occult. That cannot be explained or understood by science. The evil elements of which can only be defeated by faith.
Freaking the best Vampire Book. Type Carmilla on your computer it will come right up. It is very old and very famous.
I gottah say that since I started reading Sookie Stackhouse books. Vampire Bill is one cool mainstreamin vampire. He even sells his own computer soft wear. Not to metion breaking peoples necks. The vamps in Sookie Stackhouse when they climax bite their partner in the neck and drink a little blood. Eric Vampire Sherif of Shreveport in the first book is kind of a dangerous jerk. But Sookie straightens him out in later episodes. So I have to add Bill and Eric to my list of faves. The eteranaly 19 and blond fox Pam, turned by Eric I have already mentioned.
Vampire Bill is a laid back Civil War veteran. But he can get extremely brutal if he needs to be. Eric in TrueBlood was a Viking in life. He outranks Bill and is more violent. The older vampires are the stronger they are. However Sookie Stackhouse will tame all their asses. She is a telepath and very useful to them in dealing with humans. Vampires have their own police and ruling class. Since most of them are very old it is based on medievel government. With Kings and Queens of states. Each state being divided into Shires. Eric is the Shirif of Shreveport. He is subject to the Queen of New Orleans Sophie-Anne and her ruthless body guard and lover Andre. A few books down the line Andre will get staked by a were tiger.
I like my vampires to be not so much cool or heroes. I like them to be evil, violent, and dangerous. Maybe they can become loyal to you personally. But I like them to be basically above associating with most humans other than for food. I see them as cool but not in a romantic type of way. I am getting used to the new genere of vampires. When I hear terms like that vampires hot. I just think hot as in sexy? Let me get this right the guy is dead and drinks blood. Am I missing something here. LOL
I am finding cool vampires every day. If you like really evil fiendish vampires you should check out Varney the Vampire or A Feast of Blood. Varney is not likeable at all. He is just plain damn evil. Definitly not what people would consider HOT,LOL.

I did not like Vampire Kisses or Kissing Coffins. It was to shallow and Raven is just not my type. A vegiarian posser Goth type chic. It was just too Y A section of the library. Stuff like RBI(Raven Beuaru of Investigation) Raven cuts in line at the water fountain and see's this as some kind of rise in her social status. If that is the way todays high school kids judge social status I really feel sorry for them. Then there is the redundant use of the word Coyly. Raven looked coyly at Alexander and said "Let go upstairs and do the wild thing." LOL. Just to silly for me.
They have finally made a fairly accurate addaption of Carmilla to film http://akas.imdb.com/title/tt1351631/ This is the hotest and coolest of all vampires stories right up there with Dracula. It was filmed on lacation 2009 in Styria, Romania. It will be in theatres soon. Check it out.

Actress Simon Kaye who plays Carmilla is also a recording star. This version of Carmilla although it is loosely like the book is much more sexually oriented and borders on porn. I have to say Spike is one cool vamp. He used to say the coolest things. Like Buffy asked him why Dracula was so great. Spike replied Dracula was a wimp who had picked up a few tricks from the Gypsies that was all. Or the time he was doin the invible Buffy. Giles or some dork came to his cript and Spike said he was doing his exercises. All very hilarious. What does Ed =D text to. Edward is a dork? LOL I think Edward is just to nice a guy. He should be anything but a vampire. A super hero like spider man. But vampyre nah. I love it Sookie Stackhouse when vampire bill says "Sookie I am Vamprye". with emphasis on V
I love Jack Fleming from PN ELrod's series, Spike is fun. For downright creepy -- the ones from Salem's Lot.
Oh man are you right about that Terri. Salems lot is just plain poorly written,and covers that fact up by being just plain gross and scary. It is a Dracula rip off, and kind of suprised me becaue it was written by Steven King. He is no Braum Stoker however. Salem lot does have it's moments. What I think is the main flaw of the book. Is that as soon as a person is bitten they turn into a vamp. In any other story there has to be a blood exchange. This dates back to the time of the original book Dracula. There are two ways to become a vampire. By commiting a sin worthty of excommunication by the church,or using the Dark Arts to raise yourself from the dead. Practising black majic or witchcraft being a sin in the eyes of the church that would be a double whammy. Dracula bites Mina and then tears a gash across his chest and makes her drink. Dracula himself became a vampire because he was so evil, and since he had studied the dark arts at the school of Scholamance. He was able to raise himself from the dead. The catch to this was he had to drink human blood,and during daylight hours his powers were limited. But he could walk abroad in the day without burning.
