I am up for the challenge again! Here is what I have read so far
1. When You Are Engulfed in Flames
2.
Stolen Lives Twenty Years in a Desert Jail
Hopefully I can keep the momentum going!
It's take me a while to get on to update, but I am still keeping up with my 50 books (And my Alphabetical list as well)
3. When She Was White The True Story of a Family Divided by Race
interesting, but a long/hard read. I don't really care for this type of non-fiction
4. Adhd A Path to Success
not the type of "help" I was looking for
5. The Memory Keeper's Daughter
predictable, but a good story
6. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
I really enjoyed this one. One of my favorites so far this year
7. The Handmaid's Tale
I read this in highschool, at least I thought I did. I had no recollection of it as I was reading it. I enjoyed the story though, so am glad I read it again!
8. Anne of Green Gables
I'd never seen any of the movies or even knew the story line, so I thought it was about time. It kind of reminded me of the Little House series
9. The House on Lonely Street
a short story/poem. Cute
10. The Clan of the Cave Bear
There was WAY too much description for me. Good story, too many details. I feel like it could have been summed up in 100 fewer pages
11. In God We Trust All Others Pay Cash
I didn't know this was what the movie 'A Christmas Story' was based on. Cute read, but I was disappointed to have already heard most of the stories in it.
12. The Boy in the Striped Pajamas
Great book. I liked how it was 'left to the imagination' when it came to some of the harder parts of the story. Not sure if that is because it was labeled a YOUNG Adult, but it was nice to see it from a more innocent view point.
13. Population 485 Meeting Your Neighbors One Siren at a Time
I was skeptical when I started it, but ended up relly enjoying it. I enjoyed the way it was narrated too!
17. The Kitchen God's Wife
18. Handle with Care
I enjoyed the first couple of books I'd read of Jodi Piccoult's, but lately have been disappointed. This one finally brought me back to enjoying her again.
19. We Thought You Would Be Prettier True Tales of the Dorkiest Girl Alive
I thought this was very funny. And after such a serious book, it was just what I needed!
20. Reading Too Soon How to Understand and Help the Hyperlexic Child
22.Thirteen Reasons Why
I couldn't put this book down. Kind of like a train wreck, but really thought-provoking
23.The Other Woman
the main character was too whiney for me
24.Growing an Inch
I enjoyed this book as much as I enjoyed Until They Bring the Streetcars Back. It was a good story. I really enjoy his writing.
Half way there!!!
25. Eats, Shoots & Leaves The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation
I was looking forward to reading this book, but it left me with an "ehh" feeling.
26.Night
What a book! I am still having a hard time thinking of this boy in the concentration camp. ugh. My heart ached for him the entire book...for him and all the other Jewish people.
27.Dewey The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World
I thought this was okay. Not my favorite, but cute
30.Queen Bees and Wannabes Helping Your Daughter Survive Cliques, Gossip, Boyfriends, and Other Realities of Adolescence
informative book.
35. Julie and Julia 365 Days, 524 Recipes, 1 Tiny Apartment Kitchen
ugh. I struggled to get through this book. Maybe I am just getting sick of memoirs.
