I am soo excited that I can start reading again!! Midterms are over and now I just got to focus on my papers and site visits but at least I can read on the train rides!!! Gonna start 2nite!

OMG I finally finished I Am The Messenger:!!! Phew! Now I can get started on my other books. I gotta lotta catching up to do!

Now I am starting Bridge of Sighs yet again!

hey donna sorry i have not been doing the books on here lately, i have been working from like 630 am till 6 at night just too tired to do anything right now. once i am caught up i will catch up on the books here :)

I'm currently reading The Gargoyle, The Neverending Story, and Genghis Birth of an Empire. The last book was a goodreads first reads book.

School is rough and never easy I am taking 2 classes and I have to make up one (since my First daughter came early last Spring.

I am trying to get some reading done but it is not that easy since midterms are here but at least I am outta the exhaustion stage!!! (for noe)

Doing well. I just finished up a book called Bucking the Sun. The only good thing about it for me is that it revolved around a major civil engineering project (which isn't necessarily all that thrilling in fiction) and had some commentary on FDR and the New Deal, which is pretty relevant to the here and now.

I'm finally starting Motherless Brooklyn tonight. I'm going to spend the rest of March and April working on a pile of books I've been wanting to read for awhile.

I liked Bridge of Sighs. A lot. Russo is good at what he does.

I just read A Rumor of War by Philip Caputo which is a Vietnam war memoir and it was great. Very heavy stuff of course. I had to follow it with something light. Living Dead in Dallas did the trick. Now I am on to Lady Chatterley's Lover by DH Lawrence. Motherless Brooklyn is on the queue but I have a couple more in between.

So, I lieft my book at work yesterday and I needed something to read on my commute in so I started I am the Messenger by Markus Zusak. I loved The Book Thief so I am hoping it is just as good but I was told that not to have such high expectations.

Did anyone read Stephanie Meyer's The Host? I have mix feeligns about it because I was not crazy about the Twilight series.

I am just finishing up The Lost Boy I should be done before I get home from work. After I read my text I will start on Lullaby after that I think I will go onto White Tiger and then to Bridge of Sighs.

White Tiger is from Emilee's book club here on GR Reading from the Best Books if anyone is interested. She is a lot better at this than I am :-)

GOD!!! I am still Breaking dawn and it's killing me! I thought it would be a fast read (in which it sorta is) but I am not into it! I have to finish it. I am also reading a lot of articles for my Archives class. Things such as Norman Mailer and Louis Amrstrong and then lucky me, I have to do a 30 minute presentation on them YAY for me!!!

Oh well, it's just me b!tch!ing! So Happy Reading everyone!

Well, you seem to be catching up. School just started so I may start to slow down again but I will try not to as much as I can.

I finished up Still Life With Woodpecker. I really, really liked it. A lot.

I'm now fulfilling an earlier promise to a GR friend to read Kane and Abel by Jeffrey Archer. It has a pretty good start.

I am now reading Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer. I am not really crazy about it but I have to finish up the series and also I am reading it for my local bookclub. Eventhough it is a very large book it is a fast read and I will most likely be done by the end of the week. I also want to get onto something that I enjoy more.

Holy cow! I finally finished the wooly mammoth! It'll now take me a month to catch up with group reads and other stuff on my pile!

I have no doubt it would be easy to listen to Sedaris. I loved listening to Frank McCourt read his books.

That is a good point. I think you are right, it would be easier to listen to a comical audio book than, let's say War & Peace?

I've only done audio for a couple books to date and I always choose them to be relatively light humorous books. In these cases the book becomes more like a story a friend would tell you, especially with the David Sedaris stories when he reads them himself.

For these kinds of books I think audio works well (and then I can listen to a book and do something else at the same time) but for non-fiction or more dense literature I don't think it would work as well.

He does read his own books on audio and when there are female voices he has his sister Amy help out. Hearing the way he talks about her makes me want to read her books too... They are a very humorous family!

It has started off to be quite engaging. It appears that Collins doesn't mess around but goes right to the action. It was enough so that instead of reading just enough to warm up the vehicle, I finished Chapter 1 when I got home and then finished Chapter 2. So far I think the writing is pretty good and the main character is interesting. It's too early to make much of a judgement.

I read the 1st few pages of the Sedaris at Borders a few years ago at my friend's beckoning. I thought it was incredible and really can't believe that I haven't read it yet. Very soon! If he reads his own book on audio then I think that would be a great way to go. Still, I'm going to stick to the print.

I haven't really slept much lately (typical) so I slowed down my reading and have only read the first 2-4 pages of Me Talk Pretty One Day maybe I should invest in audio. I will check with my library.

So, I was totally off on the title that sister gave me. I got a jump start on it last night while waiting for my truck to warm up. It's called The Hunger Games and it turns out that a few people have read it.

Kellie - I'll keep you posted on my impressions of Edgar. I'm still totally enamored of it and am now about 180 pages in.

The audio book of Me Talk Pretty One Day is also really funny. Love hearing the essays from Sedaris, it makes them more real somehow...

I just finished reading A Child Called "It" and it was very disturbing! I just wanted to go home to my little girl and squish her! I just can't believe...

Anywho, I just started to read Me Talk Pretty ONe Day I was supposed to start Breaking Dawn but I let my sitter read it so I had to keep moving. I will read that "book" after Sedaris' book.
