Order of books?

I've heard that there's a companion series to the MI series call the Infernal Devices, what order should I read the books in?

This is how you should read them

1 Clock Work Angel
2 Clock Work Prince
3 Clock Work Princess
(these are Prequel Books and what I believe are her best work yet to date)

4 City of Bones
5 City of Ashes
6 City of Glass
7 City of Fallen Angels
8 City of Lost souls
9 City of Heavenly Fire (due out 2014)

Awesome books. Enjoy. :)

1. City of Bones
2. City of Ashes
3. City of Glass
4. City of Fallen Angles
5. Clockwork Angel
6. Clockwork Prince
7. City of Lost Souls
8. Clockwork Princess
9. City of Heavenly Fire (to read, of course)

I pretty much just read the first four books of TMI and the others weren't out yet so I started reading TID but then the last of the trilogy wasn't out either so I went back to TMI and then when Clockwork Princess came out, I read that! :D Did anyone actually understand what I just type?

You forgot the book City of Lost Souls on your list.

Oh, and City of Bones is $0.99 on Amazon.

I think it's better to read the Mortal Instruments first:

1) City of Bones
2) City of Ashes
3) City of Glass
4) City of Fallen Angels, (Most people don't like this book, but you can't give up. Okay?)
5) City of Fallen Angels
6) City of Heavenly Fire (Not out yet.)

and then....
7) Clockwork Angel
8) Clockwork Prince
9) Clockwork Princess (Not out yet.)

-The books have reference to each other and we hope that they join up at the end. The Infernal Devices series comes before the Mortal instruments on our timeline, besides that you can read them in whichever order you prefer. this is just how i read them.

Casey #5 is City of Lost Souls- and It was WAY better then 4, so you should just try as hard as you can to get through the 4th.

Okay, I'm sorry, but really; this is Goodreads. Just look up The Infernal Devices and the books will show up with the number of order next to the title, sheesh. But I personally would suggest reading The Infernal Devices before The Mortal Instruments. They're great books and they fill in some of the blanks in The Mortal Instruments. I would even say that they're better than TMI.

Although i liked more Mortal instruments than Infernal devices
icame to conclusion that probably you should read the prequel (infernal devicese) and then MI

it doesn't really matter even though the ID are a prequel series. they were published after the first few MI and only have a few characters in commen. They happen in Victorian England.
