How did you like this? I haven't read any Steinbeck since high school but I remember loving his work.

I enjoyed Cannery Row. Steinbeck did a lovely job developing the characters and the story pulled me in. I definitely recommend it.

It was a stellar read. The story was pretty outlandish, but in an enjoyable way. It's often compared to Confederacy of the Dunces, though I haven't read that one to say if it's accurate.

I really loved this book. I love when an author not only makes you feel but taste and smell also! Have you read any of her other work?

Oh, yes. It was pretty horrendous. How this is cited as a favorite book by so many people is a bizarre mystery to me.

Hi Andrea!
How was The Lost City of Z?"
It was a really fun read! If you're interested in the early 1900s explosion of exploration into the Amazon mixed with mystery then this would be a solid choice. It was kind of frightening how treacherous the jungles were and surprising how many people were compelled to go in anyway.
