They killed the king. They pinned it on two men. They chose poorly.
Royce Melborn, a skilled thief, and his mercenary partner, Hadrian Blackwater make a profitable living carrying out dangerous assignments for conspiring nobles until they become the unwitting scapegoats in a plot to murder the king. Sentenced to death, they have only one way out…and so begins this epic tale of treachery and adventure, sword fighting and magic, myth and legend. The writing style focuses on characters and plot rather than verbose world building. This first book of the Riyria Revelations is a heroic adventure written for adult readers yet suitable for those 13 and older.

ABOUT THE SERIES
The Crown Conspiracy is book one of the multi-book saga: The Riyria Revelations. Instead of a string of sequels this six-book fantasy series was conceived as a single epic tale divided into individual episodes. All were written before the first was released so that plot elements are intertwined, yet each is self-contained and can be read independently from each other. The second book Avempartha was released April 2009. The third book Nyphron Rising will be released October 2009.

1572236 I've seen a few blogs mentioning Crown Conspiracy recently.

Fantasy Book Critic named it as one of their 2008 Notable Indies (only 6 selected).

Another Fantasy Blogger has named their review of The Crown Conspiracy as their #1 review for 2008. The original blog is from Old Bat's Belfry

Nice to see the blogging community acceptance of this book!

1572236 Wow I just got done posting the great review by Speculative Fiction Junkie and now King of the Nerds blogged a fantastic review as well. I could spend all day taking quotes from this. Here is some of what he said.

"Perhaps the best compliment I can pay the book and its author is that immediately upon arrive at work I went and grabbed its sequel, Avempartha off the new book shelf."

"Royce and Hadrian are two well-developed characters shrouded in mystery and written with a delightful dry wit that few veteran authors could emulate."

"It is an extraordinarily tale told with a mature voice that would be impressive from a veteran and is even more so from a new author."

If either of the bloggers happen by this site...thanks so much for helping to get the word out. Your efforts are highly appreciated.

1572236 Michael's book: [The Crown Conspiracy|4345290:] just had another blogger post a review at Bookworm's Library Blog. I love how the bloggig community is really talking this up.

I'm really glad he enjoyed it so much especially since it appears he went into it with trepidation. IT is always a gamble going with a new relatively unknown author but then again that is how some of the best "gems" are found.

message 22: by Peregrine (new)

Nophoto-u-25x33 Is The Crown Conspiracy out of print in Canada? I can find the second two books listed with my bookseller, but not the first. The Winnipeg library system does not have any of the three, and I'd like to read 'em, starting with the first.

message 23: by Chris (new)

1956959 Peregrine, I've ordered mine through Robin and Michael's website.

message 24: by Peregrine (new)

Nophoto-u-25x33 I checked the prices, and with shipping to Canada, it would cost as much as buying from a bookstore. I still would like to know if the first volume is still in print in Canada.

message 25: by Chris (new)

1956959 I'll let Robin get with you there...they did have a different publisher when I got the first one, so they might not be in print from that one anymore up there.

message 26: by Robin (new)

1572236 Sorry I've not been on-line and didn't see this...The publisher did run out of the first printing and there was a time through much of October that the book was "out of print". The issue has been resolved and you should be able to get the first book again from any standard source.
