I discovered her last year, and I have been zooming through her books ever since :)

933512 I have finished all Christine Feehan's Dark series, Drake Sisters series, and Ghostwalker series books. I'm not as excited to get into the Leopard series for some reason, and as I can't seem to find the first 2 books locally, I'm probably going to have to order them from Amazon anyway. For now though, I'm taking a tiny CF break to work on some reading challenges I'm participating in this year.

Today, I'm starting Gods Behaving Badly A Novel by Marie Phillips.

I read Dark Celebration in like a day...it was SO great to have so many characters together. Now I'm about 1/2 way through Dark Possession & I must say that I'm finding Manolito much more interesting than I thought I would at first.

2028876 I'm about to start Dark Celebration. I can't wait once I pick up a "Dark" book I usually can't put it down til I'm done. They make me wish I had a car like in I,Robot so I could read while traveling. lol!

Loved Dark Melody one of my favorites so far in the series. It was different from the other books (which are still awesome!)

2191682 Well, so much for the Satanic Verses LOL!!
The other day I read Mind Game (in one day...is that weird?) and am nearly done Conspiracy Game, at which point I will have finally read (& own) all of the Ghostwalker books available. I received another shipment of books in the mail so now I have about 6 or 7 Dark novels sitting on my bookshelf begging to be read. Can we say...addicted? LOL!

1359426 Somewhere around page 100 of Mine to Possess by Nalini Singh. So far, I don't particularly like it.

Dark Celebration is soooooooo good! It ranks among my top 3 in that series easily.

2191682 I've been struggling to get into the Satanic Verses by Salman Rushdie. So far I haven't been able to finish the first chapter, and now that I just got Conspiracy Game & Dark Celebration in the mail &I don't have much motivation to keep sludging through :P

The Book of Lost Things is shelved in the adult fiction section at the library, and in sci-fi at Borders. It doesn't really read like a young adult book, but I'm only about a third of the way through it. It is very good!

I saw that you were reading "The Book of Lost Things" and looked that one up. Sounds interesting. Is it a young adult? Funny? Noticed the author is from Ireland and he has several other books. :-)

Ok. Thanks!

1359426 I'd definitely recommend Lora Leigh's Breeds.
It's a great mix of romance, drama, action and steam with a depth to the story and characters often neglected in PNR. It was a pleasant surprise when I stumbled upon this series.

The beginning of it wasn't that strong (probably also due to the publisher EC), but the latest novels are the absolute best.
It's a rarity that a series gets better with time, mostly they start lazing after a few books, but with this series it's just the opposite. When you think the author just can't do it better, Ms. Leigh surprises us every single time.

I'd recommend starting the series from the beginning (despite the EC occasional lack of plot), because a lot of little tidbits from earlier books reappear in along the series and many more are explained along the way. Also she uses secondary characters from the beginning of the series as leads in a later book.

Also I've reviewed every single book in this series, so if you're curious, take a peek in my breeds shelf. ;)

I've heard a little about this series, Alathea. Would you recommend it?

message 6: by Vanessa (new)

833382 I'm reading Lover Enshrined (Book 6 of The Black Dagger Brotherhood). I had to take a break from the series after Book 5 pissed me off (pardon my language). This one is equally frustrating and heart-breaking, but J.R. Ward is such a great writer that I can't put it down for long.

669573 I'm at the end of "Secrets, Volume 9." It's an anthology and consists of 4 short stories. One of the short stories is written by one of my favorite authors--Lisa Marie Rice. She also writes under the name Elizabeth Jennings.

A little bird whispered in my ear that I was missing this story by LMR...thank you little bird. ;-)
