Kirby | 5 comments Karin Slaughter's Grant County/Atlanta series is one of my all-time favorites, so I was surprised to see that she did not have a topic already...does anyone else read her books?

Malina (mv64) | 44 comments Kirby, I have read her books in the past. Does she have a new one coming out?

Terri (TerriLovesCrows) | 30 comments I loved Blindsighted

Diane S. Read all of hers. She actually has a new novella for kindle called Snatched: A Novella which includes the first few chapter of her new book Criminal which I think comes out in August.

Curlyhair | 120 comments I really like these books. I'm currently reading A Faint Cold Fear, which is the third in the series.

John (jkbrown2) | 325 comments Love me some Karin Slaughter. I kind of started out backwards with her books. The first I read was Fractured, part of the Will Trent/Atlanta series. I read the other Will Trent books, then started the Grant County series. Looking forward to reading Criminal and also Snatched: A Novella

Teresa (Teresa_bowen) | 15 comments I just started reading Fractured and it took a couple of chapters before I started to enjoy it. Now I'm throughly into it and don't want to have to put it down.

Linda Boyd (lboyd5900attnet) | 331 comments Karin Slaughter's new novella Snatched: A Novella is also available on Nook, for those of you who has a Nook and not a Kindle...

Aiesha (BigTexasAJ) | 136 comments This is an author I can't wait to read! Her books sound very interesting & right up my alley! Plus if Linda likes her, I'm sure I will too! :)

Linda Boyd (lboyd5900attnet) | 331 comments You will love her Aiesha!!

Stacy | 2 comments I love to read Karin slaughter ! I started with the first and have read all her novels. I'm not a fan of short stories but I did download snatched on my nook and it was very good. I can not wait for criminal to come out in July!

Samantha | 9 comments I have read a lot of her books and I really have enjoyed them all so far. Which reminds me I am not sure if I have added her books to my read list ;)

I LOVE Karin Slaughter! I read the first 6 of her Grant County books over summer vacation, and have read each book after that as it came out. I love Sara and Jeffrey, and now I adore Will Trent. I like how gritty her books are, and they do not always have a happy ending. I told her on FB that the last book was well worth the wait (wink, wink), and she said she was glad to hear it. I love her style and wicked sense of humor. Plus, as a girl from Alabama, I like all the southern references I know and love.

Lisa Love her books. Heartbroken about jeffrey but now love will trent. Cant wait till criminal comes out. Have already preordered for my kindle

Vicky | 9 comments I first read blindsighted by accident, I borrowed a copy as I had ran out of books one holiday. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I'm so pleased I happened upon the first in the series, I am such a stickler for reading in order and I would have been devastated to read skin privilege for example before the earlier books, I don't think the book would have had such an impact had I not got to know the characters first!
I'm looking forward to criminal, was pleasantly surprised by snatched, as I found her other short stories to be disappointing!
As for Will Trent... Sometimes I like him, sometimes he irritates me! I'm a Jeffrey fan and Will doesn't always cut it for me :-D

Georgia | 403 comments In 2006 I read Kisscut (Grant County, #2) by Karin Slaughterwhich I did not
like- mother's who were emotional messes who use their
own children or steal children, child porn, etc. I don't know about all of you out there, but this is not the type of book I would spend my hard-earned money on. Perhaps her Grant County series is better. I have not read anything by her in the last 6 years because of said book. Maybe I will go to the library and see if
they have one her Grant County series since most of you seem to like them.

Kisscut is part of the Grant County series, and yes, it is an excellent series, as is her Atlanta series.

Joan (majopau) | 4 comments I started reading Karin Slaughter after stumbling upon Faithless and ever since then I've added her to my reading list. Her books feel real and gritty,

I love the Grant County Series but I favor the Will Trent series more, especially when Sara came into the picture. As much as I love Jeffrey, Will is so awkward and his background story is great that I adore him more :))

John (jkbrown2) | 325 comments Just finished her new book, Criminal. Terrific book, one of her best. It goes back and forth between 1975 when Amanda (Will Trent's boss) and Evelyn (Faith Mitchell's mother) are young detectives on the Atlanta PD working their first murder case and the present. Finally we learn the story behind Amanda and Will, and more details on his childhood.

In that case will have to grab criminal- while reading the series have been thinking interaction between amanda and will seems bit strange

I agree with vicky who finds will bit irritating at times and I do not get the wierd relationship with angie

Marena | 35 comments Love Karin Slaughter. I think Lena one of the darkest, most warped characters of the genre, and she's meant to be a good guy! Will Trent is almost (apart from the Angie thing) the opposite end of that spectrum. I don't find him irritating at all - just want to hug him in fact! I also think that the relationship with Angie is possibly one of the best described, and probably researched, dysfunctional relationships in almost any series of books I've ever read. All in all, hats off for making me squirm when I read about Lena, and weep when I read about Will. I'd recommend them to anyone who is not too squeamish for those characters alone, never mind the actual stories.

Linda Boyd (lboyd5900attnet) | 331 comments I recently finished reading Kisscut (Grant County, #2) by Karin Slaughter and felt so sorry for Lena, she is a warped character, but on the other hand has had a hard life.

Marena | 35 comments I agree, Linda, she has had a pretty hard life, but whilst I can understand some of her more bizarre choices based on that and even feel some sympathy for her, she still, even on 2nd and 3rd readings, truly makes me cringe!

Aiesha (BigTexasAJ) | 136 comments Hello all! I have a question about Karin Slaughter's series.

I am on the 6th and last book of the Grant County series (awesome, by the way!) and I know she has the Will Trent series too, which I will start reading after this one. However, is the Grant County series done completely after this and everything transitions to the Will Trent series or should we be expecting more Grant County books in the future? I was confused about that worked. I didn't know if she completely stopped writing Grant County once she started writing Will Trent because I notice she is still coming out with Will Trent books but not Grant County. I doesn't matter to me either way, I was just curious. Thanks for any insight! :-)

Autumn (autumnmemory80) | 271 comments After Grant County, she creates the Atlanta series. It combines Will Trent and Sarah. Did you cry with THE BOOK? I boo hooed like a baby.

Taylor I actually own Karin Slaughter's A Faint Cold Fear but I have read nothing else by her. Do you have to read her books in a particular order? Will I be confused at all if I just start with that one?

(view spoiler)

Stacy | 2 comments I read them all. I started with the first copy right through the last. I just like it that way! Someone did tell me you would be fine not to do that. I can't wait for her new book to come out!!

i think it is better to read in series as what happens in one effects the character and behavious and is mentioned in the next book.

You can understand some behaviours of the character and you don't find out what the result was in the prev book by reading the next one first

I think you should put what happens to Jeffery and Sarah in a spoiler format. Not everyone has read the books and knows what happens.

Autumn (autumnmemory80) | 271 comments Personally, I am glad I read them in order. The next book always sorta discusses things from previous books. I would say, go in order.

Maia Osborne | 27 comments I have read all of Karin Slaghters books, and she is one of my favourite ever authors.

Curlyhair | 120 comments I'm in the middle of Faithless and loving it so far. I have to say its better than some of the previous ones in the series - in my opinion.

Linda Boyd (lboyd5900attnet) | 331 comments I finished A Faint Cold Fear (Grant County, #3) by Karin Slaughter this weekend and I loved every minute of it. I'm not sure why I am having a hard time finishing this series - I love this author and am always happy when I read the next book. I really need to work on getting caught up on all of this authors books.

I've read most of the Grant County series, loved it. Gritty, tense, great mysteries and characterizations.

Diana Febry (DianaJ) | 23 comments Hi I read Skin Privilege this year and absolutely loved it. But I think I may have messed up reading that one first!
What Karin Slaughter book would people recommend I read next?

Aiesha (BigTexasAJ) | 136 comments Reading Triptych Triptych (Will Trent, #1) by Karin Slaughter and LOVING it!! Karin Slaughter is simply amazing!!!

Start at the beginning!

Thanks, I've added it to my BTR list.

That would have been a good plan before I messed up and read the last of the series first. My bad.

Haha, no worries! The first book in the series is my absolute favorite... and maybe the second. It's just so hard to choose, but those two are probably my favorites. There is one book that is later in the series that made me cry and cry, and I am sure you already know why! :)

Sue Flanagan | 3 comments I love all Karins books, and have criminal to read next..
