Read a book by an author whose consecutive initials (as they appear in their Goodreads name) skip a consecutive letter in the alphabet. Hyphenated names count as the letter of the first hyphenated name.
Examples: Agatha Christie (ABC), Jen Lancaster (JKL) Irmgard Keun (IJK), Arthur Conan Doyle (ABC)

Jayme VA | 528 comments I'm so glad this task made it in here! I was so proud of myself when I thought of it. (Sorry, done patting myself on the back now :)

Dee | 3062 comments lol Jayme!! I love seeing it when stuff I proposed it used ;)

Connie | 271 comments I'll probably use Jhumpa Lahiri who has several books of short stories.

Bea | 1173 comments Connie, I enjoyed The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri.

Monica S | 66 comments Hi there. Do the author's letters need to be in consecutive order? Would Yellow Crocus by Laila Ibrahim work?

oops..nevermind. that's two letters in between.

Ms Anderson (Ms_Anderson) | 1119 comments Actually, I was wondering the same thing. Can the letters go backwards? I'm trying to fit in all of Eoin Colfer's Artemis Fowl series this season, since the last book is coming out at the beginning of July.

Dee | 3062 comments I was going to ask about backwards letters too, because I found Jean Hanff Korelitz (J I H)

Dlmrose | 4813 comments Forward only, please

Tracy Kavanagh I am wondering if Portia de Rossi would work or if the 'de' stuffs me up? Its a long shot I know!

Dlmrose | 4813 comments Initials count

Peter F. Hamilton (FGH)
Caragh M. O'Brien (MNO)
J.R.R Tolkien (RST)

These alphabetizing rules may help with "de"- see rule 2
sorry, the "de" counts

Dee | 3062 comments is there such a thing as a double skip to my lou? I just realized the book I am going to read - written by 2 authors and both of their names work

anah crow (A-C) and Dianne Fox
