That's for sure. Especially when you're a major slacker like me and haven't written for a while. I can't seem to get any new story ideas, and editing is not engaging enough to keep me wanting to work, you know? I really want a fresh, new idea, but none are coming. *sigh*

That's what I was thinking! How do you even begin to THINK about writing that much, let alone actually doing it? How would one count all those words, though? Don't you think you'd get lost? 70k is a lot to transfer to the computer.

I'd love some help with stuff. I'm currently going through and cutting/editing things at the moment. I think I'm going to cut the whole "Reawakened Soul Heaven" thing, and find some other way for him to connect with people. I have a lot of unnecessary characters that I'm going to cut. Like Paul, and maybe Miyah- not sure about her yet, Walter, and Juliet. I'm adding in Liam and Michael though. Oh, and I'm cutting Rachel and Jessie. Their story isn't needed.

For now I'm going to try just editing. Maybe I'll start a new idea later. I've already failed NaNo this year. I'm thinking that next year I'll do it in October, and then upload my words in November. Since November's such a busy month for me and all. I don't think they'll have a problem with that.

I just don't get how some people do it. Did you see all the people who have already finished? Either they have no lives, or they're REALLY fast writers.

It sucks about nano ... but why don't you just try to write SOMETHING? Like, start a random scene with random people doing something simple, like having dinner or going out to a party. Then just keep writing and see where it goes. You can have it be random scenes all the time that don't go together, or different characters all the time. Just write for the sake of writing, not for plot! Or you could make a book of short stories and write all the short stories for nano ...

I know, I've been so out of touch. AP is driving me crazy. Plus I've just started babysitting a different kid- so my schedule is all funked up and I have NO free time. I'm juggling writing, babysitting, school, and LOTS of AP homework. I did about 20 hours of homework this week- no joke. Between AP English and AP History I'm swamped.

But now I'm attempting NaNo (fingers crossed) so I'm going to have even less time. *sigh*

Tink - I would say go for the new story. If you don't have deadlines for the others then switch.

It's fresh, exciting, wonderful - so go for it.

In my opinion (and I'm NOT an expert - ha ha) if you force yourself to work on the others they will be lackluster, stiff, and well - forced. Just think how much better they will be when they have your full attention.

I don't know if I'll ever get around to publishing Reawakened Soul, though. I really loved it, but re-reading over it I find the writing style kind of different from where I am now. A lot of choppy sentences and halfway formed thoughts. I mean, I like the story, but I don't think the writing does it justice. I don't know what I'm going to do. I have half a mind to re-write the story this year for NaNo, just creating a new form of Daniel where he THINKS and puts things in action. That way I can get everything to happen, add in a few of his little rants here and there, and come up with something I'd be proud to call mine. For now I just get to read through it chuckling here and there at some stupid pun I wrote. :D

In college, the first day of class, my math professor announced to everyone that all the women could forget about getting an “A” from him, as women never did well in math.

I was infuriated…so much so, that by the end of the semester I asked him to retract his original statement. To my great surprise, he actually apologized to the class, stating that I had the highest grade :]

It was not that I was a math wiz, but never ever say that I can’t do something :]

And yeah, my math teacher actually said that. :) At the beginning of the year I got the impression that she's a really nice person, but has a bit to learn about the IA. That doesn't mean she isn't a good teacher-- because she is a good teacher. I'm sad that she's leaving in 2 weeks though. Apparently, there are 'family issues' that she can't deal with while teaching every day. I'm also a bit worried about the new math teacher... It will be really weird having somebody totally new teaching us... I hope that they are a good teacher at least, and not condescending.

It's kinda funny... my math teacher has said to our class, "I'll be honest with you. I haven't used this since my junior year of high school. But the IB wants you to know it, so you have to learn it" or something along those lines. :) She's probably the only math teacher i've had or will have that will admit that!

That sounds like a good road to take. Learning is a good course of action. I kind of like learning, actually. It's neat when you learn something you never thought you'd ever need to use in "real life" and something comes up and you use it! So cool. I also love spitting out random little facts about crap no one really cares about when I can't think of anything to say. :D
