#9:
More bittersweet than I remember his other books. Love how much he loves and admires his partner, Hugh--that came through clearly. #10:
Love Jane Austen and 19th century England rules of conduct: all of those intimate communications left unsaid and guessed at make for a thrilling read.
Found Finding Flow The Psychology of Engagement with Everyday Life to be a very good read and supportive of my desire to be engaged and in the present moment. Admire Csikszentmihalyi for inventing ESM (technique that beeps study participants and asks them to rate their thoughts, emotions, etc. at random times), yet some of the stats used were based on very, very broadly defined samples, so sometimes the conclusions drawn from them were questionable. However, overall, really enjoyed the book :-)Figured since I spent the summer prepping classes for fall, I should count those textbooks I use on this list, too!
#6: Kathleen Stassen Berger, The Developing Person through Childhood and Adolescence.
#7: David G. Myers, Psychology in Modules, 8e
#8: Currently reading: Civilization and Its Discontents--not a fan of Freud's theory; however, I do admire him as a thinker and for the influence he had over Western thought (for better or worse).
#4 Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte#5 currently reading Finding Flow The Psychology of Engagement with Everyday Life by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi
Off to a good start, but I am on winter break, so we'll see if I can keep up the pace once the semester starts up in mid-January.#1: Currently reading God Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything
#2: Science Friction by Michael Shermer.
#3: Emotional Intelligence by Daniel Goleman
