Kate (katemcnair) | 58 comments Lillian's story is below. I think I see where she got her inspiration last week! I'm glad it hasn't gotten that hot this year...

My catastrophe scenario is that a solar storm on the Active Region 1515 will get really out of control, and since there is nothing anyone on Earth can do to stop a coronal mass ejection (CME), blobs of plasma and charged particles will be hurtled through space. Some of them will get really close to the Earth, and others will hit satellites. The Earth’s temperature is slowly rising, due to the fact the pieces of the sun are flying off, and headed straight for us! The plasma that has been hitting the satellites has severely messed with the power grid and all the electronics here on Earth, cell phone service is spotty, at best, TV screens are snowy, and you haven’t been able to get online for days. There was over 700 plane crashes, because of GPS and radio tower failures. In order to survive something like this, I would make sure that I had a lot of bottled water, and non-perishable foods. As the situation gets worse, a lot of people are dying because of the extreme heat; temperatures are no less than 105 in the shade, and that doesn’t even matter because there hasn’t been rain since this whole thing started, and that was weeks ago. You can’t find any fresh fruits or vegetables, and the price of meats and poultry are skyrocketing, as the supply of them is going down at a rapid pace. No one really knows what’s going on because the internet and cell phones aren’t working. When the high temperature for the day hits 115, I grab lots of water, and get in my car, looking for a cave, were it might just be cool enough to ride out this solar storm.

Kate (katemcnair) | 58 comments Kalee's story is below. Who doesn't love a good zombie story, especially when the end of the world allows you to hang out at Bill Murray's house?!

If there was ever a zombie attack, I would get a zombie army. I know this sounds stupid and reckless, but I like zombies. When I have my zombie army, I would call them the Z Force. The Z force and I would help those in trouble, and battle bad zombies. Then I would like to figure out how they became zombies, and notify their families. I imagine this zombie world would be like the movie Zombieland. There would be a guy trying to find the last Twinkie.

I would go find my friends and family and tell them what makes zombies tick and tell them it’s going to be all right. Then I would teach the zombies how to play musical instruments and have an orchestra of zombies. Then I would go to Bill Murray’s house and meet him. Then the zombies, Bill Murray, my friends and family, and me will sit together in Bill Murray’s home theatre and watch Zombieland. Then I would think Bill Murray for his hospitality, and go home, read a zombie book. Then I would fall asleep, and find it was all but a dream. That is my plan.
