That should be doable as you are just under 1.5 a month so with a lttle push you should be able to do it
Go 3nine6!!
My challenge was to read 25 for 2009, ending on 12/31/2009. I have read 23, with 2 more to go in the next month.
Finished 94 of my 100 books so far. My challenge ends December 18. I'll probably be going over 100 since I just picked up several YA books and graphic novels from the library. Here's what I should be finishing in the next few weeks:95. The Sandman Vol. 1: Preludes and Nocturnes - Neil Gaiman

no probles good luck
That's another good idea, Afsana. I'm hoping that my membership on a few groups will help as well. So far, of the 6-7 books that I'm slated to read for Oct/Nov, I own all but one.
Perhaps it could be a side, personal goal to reduce the TBR pile by a certain number or percent each year? I like how other people have goals that of the overall # of books to read, a certain amount have to come from their TBR pile. Perhaps when I do my goal for age 32, I'll re-asses then.
Thanks for all the suggestions! :)

You could give yourself more time this is a personal challenge.
I have also sey up another challenge to reread all my old books over 350 by author and in order so this is something I haven't put a date on for the whole thing but for each author I will see how many books I have and my schedule and put a realistic time to aim to finish those
so maybe thats another idea-choose a chunk of books and then read those in a set period?
Hi Afsana - I'll go take a look. Unfortunately, I have about 300+ on my TBR shelf, so I don't want to set a goal so I don't want to commit to reading all of those this year. I see to have a book-buying addiction!
I like your idea about tracking the ones you buy each year though!

You should look at my challenge
i have listed my TBR on my actual shelf and target is to read that and have also on another post started listing new purchases from september and this will continue till march and at that point will target myself to read those from march 2010 to march 2011. That way can try and keep up Have about 100 tbr
Wow, there are some great goal ideas here!
My goal this year was pretty normal - 75 for my birth day (31 Mar 09 - 30 Mar 10) but am at 60 already. I had no idea how much I was reading before I started tracking it!
I'm also going to 'steal' some of your ideas here. For example, I'm increasing my goal to 125 books, and for each book I miss on the goal, I'm going to donate $5 to charity (coming out of my book-buying budget).
I also think I should add a goal around TBR books - maybe for every two books I already own that I read, I can only get 1 new book. I need something to limit the amount of books I buy!!

Hi Tara!
75! Way cool, now you'll have to definitely make a goal of 100 or more for your next year's challenge, you really did well so far.

Great to hear you're on your way with your reading! Keep it going.
I have been getting my books lately at the library since it's free and won't clog up my home with more books. I also get review copies from authors/publishers sent to me so I'm fairly set with all the books to read.

Total YTD: 65
I set my goal for 100 books from January 1st to December 31st. I've read 49 so far and working on two right now. I've been also using as a guide the A-Z titles and A-Z authors for part of my reading. Some of the books I've read are repetitions of authors so they don't count on the author list, but they count on my overall goal for reading.
My time frame is the year 2009.My personal goal at the beginning of the year was 36. My new goal is 50 books. So far: 39/50. I have five months to finish 11 books. Shouldn't be too hard. :)
A-Z Author Challenge: 15/26
A-Z Title Challenge: 24/26
Hi, I'm new and my goals for this year are to read at least 50 books and complete A-Z author and title challenges. I started my challenges on January 1st.Current status:
47/50 for the year
20/26 for the A-Z author challenge
17/26 for the A-Z title challenge
I started my challenge on April 16, 2009 and will go until April 16, 2010.
I have a few goals.
I am 8/26 for the year
I am 7/26 for the A-Z title challenge
I am 2/6 for the classics challenge
I am 2/5 for the BBC challenge
I read 50 books before my 25th birthday....and I was four months ahead:) Yea! I feel so accomplished!!!!!!

Camilla- I was just thinking the same thing yesterday, that I spend so much time "surfing" GoodReads, it has cut into my reading time! LOL
Hi I'm new but I thought I'd post.I started my challenge on May 29, 2009 and will go until December 31, 2009.
I have a few goals.
I am 7/100 for the year (or at least the rest of the year)
I am 7/26 for the A-Z title challenge
I am 5/26 for the A-Z author challenge
It's great to see how far everyone has come and how far they still have to go.
:)
Right now I am at 26/100 for the year, but I have two weeks of vacation coming up which should add another 10 or so to that. I'm a little bit behind my goal but it will be fun trying =)
This year I'm going to read 50 books. (Hopefully!) And I've read 15 so far... So I think it's going well... Stuff should move faster when school lets out! ; D15/50!!! um.. that's 35 more. Yay?
So far my A-Z Titles include a C, F, and L. I am almost finished with a B and halfway through an E. The next two on my list are a T and a G.
I'm on book 6 since 4/16 which is much quicker than I usually read thanks to GoodReads. My goals are to read 26 books (one for each letter)by next 4/16, at least 5 of them being classics (1 down, 4 to go). So far so good.
But I just realized that I'm reading 2 books in a row that start with a "G". Argh! :(
I'm on track with both my A-Z title challenge and my 2 per month or 24 for the year challenge. Although I have to start making sure that my selections match the letters I nend for the A-Z title challenge.
i've read 25/50 books so farand 8945/1,000,000 pages.
so i'm halfway through my book goal, but i'm not sure if i'll hit my pages goal before my book goal, so i'm most likely going to have to stive to accomplish more than 50 books this year.
My goal is to read as many books as I can and save a dollar for every book I read$27 so far and counting!
My Challenge for this year is to try to read 100 books. I'm planning on reading- 40 books from my bookshelf
- 40 books that I've borrowed from the library or from friends
- 15 classics
- 5 non-fiction books..
My current status (April) is:
- 10/40 books from my bookshelf
- 18/40 books from the library
- 1/15 classics
- 1/5 non-fiction
And I have read a total of 28 books so far.
