44. Capitol Scandal, Sarah Gregory (380 p)Just awful. Figured out the ending within the first 2 chapters.
I laughed for a good three or four minutes when I read that. It was so unexpected and it felt so out of character for my dear Mr. Darcy!
Hahahahah... I haven't read it yet. Bought it for my mom as a gag gift for her birthday because she'd just read Pride & Prejudice for the first time. Then I just got a free ARC of Sense & Sensibility & Sea Monsters, woohoo!!
Glad to see you back here! :)

UGHHHH I did not like it much at alllll. I really did at first, I thought the way he added the zombie bits were really well done. But about the time Elizabeth went to visit Charlotte, it stopped being so good and started feeling like it was a chore for the new author. The end was just horrid, imo. Although this part was great:"She remembered the lead ammunition in her pocket and offered it to him. 'Your balls, Mr. Darcy?' He reached out and closed her hand around them, and offered, 'They belong to you, Miss Bennett.'"
PRICELESS.
Looks like you didn't like P&P&Zombies either. I think we might be the only 2 people who aren't raving about it...

ROFL! Totally jealous. Especially if it's Hollywood.
Sarah, So you moved to Siberia or some other God forsaken place with no Computer connections????? Because the only other acceptable explanation for your disappearance from the Cyber Book Club is that you've been abducted by one of the "Brothers" and have become their shellan. In which case you will have a bunch of "Sisters" who will be very jealous and giving you the evil eye for not spilling if your
path and theirs ever meet. So I'm waiting.....what's the answer?????????? ;) LOL
Seriously, hope your move went smoothly and that everything's all right with you.
Good grief, girl. You're finally back. Gotta go now... some Search and Rescue missions I have to call off...
Hey guys, sorry! Thanks Jenn Ahenry & Lisarenee for missing me! At least somebody did! LoL. It's not just you guys, don't worry, I'm not even playing Warcraft! GASP! I know. Also, I'm moving, so I've spent a lot of time helping the people moving out, cleaning, and starting to get my stuff moved in. Still got about a week to go before I'm done, then I'll start reading and posting and doing all that jazz again!
Me too. She's usually not so quiet. Maybe if I make some reference to her living in a swap she'll start talking???? Okay not really swamp land where she lives but it does usually make her defensive if someone says anything negative or something she perceives as negative about where she lives.:)
36. The Princess Bride S. Morgenstern's Classic Tale of True Love and High Adventure, William Goldman/S. Morgenstern (450 p)(16,666 p total)
35. Comes a Horseman, Robert Liparulo (544 p)Started off amazing. Lost almost all it's steam about halfway through; turned into some weird Christian pop culture propaganda novel. The first half is all about assassins and murders and the FBI, and the it turns into a diatribe about the main characters dead wife and her religious habits. Either the author was trying to evangelize and failed HORRIBLY, or he has no idea what he was talking about and picked the most cliche Christian pop culture tenants to use. The author could have done so much with this book, and judging by the first half, maybe even two thirds, you really were expecting a huge bang; and then it just kind of tapers off and the resolution of the story takes a back seat to a character who doesn't even matter to the story.

Oh, thanks for the clarification about JMO. I'm a dork and always have to google that stuff. Seriously. I haven't taught high school for five y..."
Ugh, great, now we are teaching Viola incorrect lingo. It's like teaching toddlers to pronounce words incorrectly, which BTW (by the way, Viola) my siblings did to me. Video = vid-ay-oh. Broccoli= broc-ah-lay. Don't worry, Viola, I've got your back. sniff.
Err....not a speed reader per se, but I do read really really fast.34. Breaking Dawn, SM (754 p)
And now my WoW account feels woefully neglected... must stop reading fluff and get down to crunching numbers...
Jenn wrote: "Sans - Like on a sewing machine? I didn't know anyone used those any more."
Believe it or not, Jenn, sewing is really cool! Seriously! You should see some of the stuff my sister makes! It's crazy!
Sarah wrote: "I was TOTALLY just thinking that we should make up acronyms, convince Viola they are real, then she will use them on people, and we will START TRENDS.

Sarah, you don't really know me, but this statement sort of makes me think you do! :) Inventing phrases and trying to make them cool has always been a passion of mine. When I taught high school, I always love to try to say the cool phrases, and my students crack up at me. But it's even more fun to make up my own and say it like it's completely normal. I'll be your guinea pig, Sarah. Give me a phrase. I'll start saying it. Nobody will be surprised. :)
I was wearing bell bottoms in high school before the shops started carrying them. And no, that isn't when they first came out in the 60's and 70's. It was in the mid-90's and I made my own.
I was TOTALLY just thinking that we should make up acronyms, convince Viola they are real, then she will use them on people, and we will START TRENDS.FyI, I TOTALLY said "That's hot" years before Paris Hilton.
Sans wrote: "Not to worry Viola, I'm just ragging on Sarah. People will always take JMO to mean "just my opinion" (same as IMHO = "in my humble opinion"). "
Not anymore. You've screwed me up forever, Sans. I am now only going to associate JMO with just mouthing off. I will never again be young and hip and it's all your fault. j/k Don't worry I'm JMO. LOL
Not to worry Viola, I'm just ragging on Sarah. People will always take JMO to mean "just my opinion" (same as IMHO = "in my humble opinion").
Great. So now, if I try to be younger and hipper (I'm in my thirties, but I am young according to some people, right?), and use JMO, you're telling me that people might get confused???? GREAT! :)
Perhaps this is why I should just stick to my nerdy English teacher ways and refuse to use such abbreviations. :)
And yes, definitely read Anansi Boys. I think you'll love it.
Viola you did see that, right? I used JMO as just my opinion. I've never seen it used as JUST MOUTHING OFF.And I'm young and hip, unlike Sans here.
Yea I think I want to read Anansi Boys.*the interwebz threatens to permanently crash due to the strain of adding YET ANOTHER book to our collective TBR list*
Sarah wrote: "The blog you mentioned, is that under journal on his site? I've been to it before to look for info but didn't really get into it.
Will do that.
Just what I need. Another blog to add to my blog ..."
Yes, Sarah, the blog is the journal on his site. I adore him. :)
Have you read Anansi Boys? That is my favorite one. I think you would really like it if you haven't read it.
I agree with you; his books are so different. Stardust is good but nothing like Anansi Boys, and Coraline is again, something else entirely. Okay, that was the weirdest sentence ever. Moving on.
Anyway, I really enjoyed those novels by him and have always wanted to read American Gods, but I've just tabled it for when I was in the mood. I definitely have to be in the mood to read something. I'll let you know what I think when I get around to it someday. Thanks for the recommendation!
