1365355 I don't think anyone knows what happened-- but in the meantime, the illustrator of Homecoming is publishing a new series about a werewolf on Nov. 11 that you might want to check out ("Tracker"). In case you were wondering what his art is like when it's not rushed. LOL.

1420355 Homecomming is a prequel to the Mercy Thompson series, I liked it. The Alpha Omega graphic is called Cry Wolf Volume 1. I'm thinking it might just be Cry Wolf in graphic form.

message 189: by Kelley Anne (new)

1425545 Homecoming came out this summer, and it is about Mercy when she first got to the tri-cities area. I heard that alpha and Omega was coming out with one, but I don't know any of the details about it.

message 188: by Rachel (new)

2854268 Oh, I think it is Mercy though, not an Alpha and Omega

message 187: by Rachel (new)

2854268 I thought Amazon had the graphic novel. It is called Homecomming.

1425545 I've been listening to it tonight at work! I lent my paperback copy to my sis-in-law, who has in turn lent it to about 10 people, and I haven't had it for almost 6 months! Been driving me crazy because this is one of those series that I read over and over. So, it's been fun to finally have a copy again! I really like the girl that reads them. I think she does a great job!

Woohoo! Thanks for the heads up, I'm heading over there to download now. =)

message 184: by Tina (new)

1420355 I didn't see anything on her site too. But I think that's where I first heard about it and it's listed on GoodReads. Alpha & Omega, Volume 1 Cry Wolf

2763463 hey sorry i just checked her website and all it says is there will be 5th mercy thompson on march 30th and an untitled opus #3 out in august

message 182: by Tina (new)

1420355 I thought Briggs was releasing a Alpha & Omega graphic novel. I thought the release date was Nov.3 but I checked Borders website and they don't have it in the database. Anyone know when this is supposed to be released?

2763463 i finally got my copy of bone crossed and am happily halfwaay through it :D its awesome so far!

1425545 DarkHeart - Iron Kissed is on audible now! The entire series has now been released! :) I'm pretty happy! Briggs's werewolf series are probably a couple of my very favorites!

message 179: by Kelley Anne (new)

1425545 They released #1 on Sept 1st and #2 on Oct 1st. I hope that means that #3 will be out on Nov 1st! I had heard that they were all supposed to be released before the end of the year, so keeping my fingers crossed.

Ooh, brilliant! I'd missed that. =)

message 177: by Tina (new)

1420355 Leslie - Have you read the Alpha and Omega series yet? Now that you finished MT series, Alpha and Omega would be good to start. It's a good series.

message 176: by Leslie (new)

2380118 I am finally caught up on The Mercy Thompson series. I can finally look through this post without fear of spoilers. :) The last book was amazing. It ended well and I can't wait until the next book which will be next year :(

message 175: by new_user (new)

1365355 Yeah, I liked all her Sianim series. :)

message 174: by Sandra (new)

2650335 Thank you to both Stacy & Tina. I'll read Moon Called, Blood Bound, by then I should have On The Prowl then Cry Wolf.

I've seen listed When Demons Walk & Steal the Dragon, both available still. I might have to get them too if Masques is being revived, they'll either sell out or go up in price.

The other books in her Sianium world are When Demons Walk and Steal the Dragon. They are fun romatic fantasy, but characters still make some hard choices. I read them years ago out of order. When Demons Walk Steal the DragonI espcially like Steal the Dragon. If you are hungry for Briggs and are ok outside of Para these are great. It is great to hear Masques is comming out again.

Hi Ariana!

The next book comes out on march 30 next year.

I think it comes out next summer sometime...which is way to long to wait for it.

2779793 Warren is very cool, they have to keep him! I quite like Zee as well.

Hi Stacey!

message 169: by Tina (new)

1420355 Sandra - I would read Mercy Thompson first. Then read the short story from On The Prowl. Last but not least, Cry Wolf. I found that I appreciated Cry Wolf more having read Mercy's story first.

Stacey - I luv Warren too!

2763463 moon called, then blood bound for mercy thompson. on the prowl is an anthology, its got the beginning of anna and charles story in it - how they meet. u can read that one first. i have read cry wolf and not on the prowl and found it fine. but im guessing you will want the intro first?
as far as which series to read first, its up to you. you might find it easier to read mercy first because in cry wolf they mention characters from mercy series

message 167: by Sandra (new)

2650335 Hi everyone, I've got 1st 2 Mercy's & Cry Wolf with On the Prowl on order. Which order do I read them in please?

2763463 Hi! just joined this awesome group! and have recently finished reading Mercy Thompson series and the first Alpha and Omega book. ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM!! Have to say Warren is one of my favourite characters, aside from Mercy ofcourse.

message 165: by new_user (new)

1365355 I wouldn't really consider it wasting time. They're great books, and now many more readers will have an opportunity to read them, especially her fans just finding her from the Mercy and A&O series.

Besides, Wolfsbane is new. ;P The author and the editor're the only who've had access to it, LOL.

message 164: by Kelley Anne (new)

1425545 From what it looks like, she's not really re-writing anything. Just making a few edits to rerelease it as well as a few edits on a sequal to the book. One that she's already written but never published.

message 163: by Starling (new)

2446676 I don't want her wasting her time rewriting old books. I want her writing new ones. Unless, of course, this is a series that the publishers might like her to continue and put into the rotation.

message 162: by new_user (last edited Oct 04, 2009 11:03AM) (new)

1365355 Briggs' reworking them. So there'll be some changes. They could probably use some too. They were her first books. :) They won't be huge changes though.

message 161: by Starling (new)

2446676 Will she actually rewrite any of those books, or are they simply being reissued?

I hope she just leaves the old books alone. I'm glad things are being reissued. It is quite normal for an author who begins to sell well to have all the old books reissued too. It is happening to Chairlane Harris as well. Or all of hers might now be available.

message 160: by new_user (last edited Oct 03, 2009 09:34PM) (new)

1365355 Masques is the first book set in her Sianim universe. In this country, sorcerors have considerable power and one in particular, their new golden boy, has been subtly influencing, manipulating, or disappearing others until he has become almost the only sorceror in power. Main character Aralorn is a spy sent to learn the truth of certain suspicions arising regarding this sorceror. She's a shapechanger, and her companion is Wolf, who is a wolf, LOL. Or is he? Dun, dun, dun.

The book is unlike a lot of fantasy in that it is written as an adventure romance, so it's quite direct rather than sprawling as some others are. We're launched into the story immediately, and the world-building and exposition is sort of light, telling us the necessities and keeping the focus on action sequences or dialogue. Her style will be very familiar, I think, with compelling characters as usual. :) If you're a fantasy and action fan, I recommend it.

It's out of print, but she's re-publishing it in 2010 and the sequel. :)

message 159: by Kelley Anne (new)

1425545 Ahh..I've never read Masques. What's it about and is it currently out in print or do I need to wait?

message 158: by new_user (last edited Oct 03, 2009 09:34PM) (new)

1365355 No, I like the series, but I loved Masques and I was always so curious about the secret sequel, LOL. I'm happy she's publishing it. :)

message 157: by Kelley Anne (new)

1425545 You don't like the alpha and omega series? Did you read Hunting Ground?

message 156: by new_user (new)

1365355 LOL. I think I'm the only one happy about this. xD

message 155: by Elvia (new)

2241602 Oh no.... wonder how long we'll have to wait...
I haven't read Hunting Ground yet (25 on the wait list ugh). I can't wait to read it tho.

message 154: by Kyle (new)

2183713 I don't know if anyone else checks her website/blog but there isn't going to be a Alpha and Omega novel next year.

Apparently she gets behind a lot so there is going to be Silver Bourne, the 5th Mercy Thompson novel :D

And then ACE is going to re-publish her first book Masques. Then the second book in that series, Wolfsbane, will be published next year as well.

Both books are already written she just has to go back and edit both and make them up to the writing standard she is at now :D

We can expect 3 novels from briggs next year just no alpha and omega :/

I absolutely love the Mercy Thomson series, its one of the best I have read and I LOVE Adam and Sam. I even kinda like Stephan. Patricia Briggs is great at what she does!

message 150: by new_user (new)

1365355 I like that too, Tina. :D

message 149: by Kelley Anne (new)

1425545 I really love all of the characters in their own ways. Anna is great! And I didn't think that I'd like Charles, but I love him!

1420355 Kelley Anne wrote: "Wait until you read Hunting Ground! I really enjoyed Cry Wolf, but Hunting Ground was my favorite of the 2!"

Sounds like I'll be in for a treat with Hunting Ground. I think I'm starting to like Charles and Anna's story more than Mercy/Adam/Samuel. She definitely focuses on the romance more in Cry Wolf. I like that.

message 147: by Kelley Anne (new)

1425545 Wait until you read Hunting Ground! I really enjoyed Cry Wolf, but Hunting Ground was my favorite of the 2!

message 146: by Tina (new)

1420355 I'm enjoying Cry Wolf at the moment. I think you need to read the Mercy Thompson series first in order to really appreciate Cry Wolf. And of course the short story Alpha and Omega.I might have not gotten into Cry Wolf as much as I am without reading those first.

message 145: by new_user (new)

1365355 Ahhhh, I see. Yeah, I have to tell you people tend to agree that the Raven set is one of her weaker series. The Sianim series was much more appealing, imo.

message 144: by Kelley Anne (new)

1425545 As for the audio books, so far they have all been exactly the same as the print book. BTW, Book #2 was just released on audible.com today! I am so excited! Can't wait until I can have the whole series!

I think she had some kind of disclaimer about changes in the book. Eileen Wilks did the same thing and she had a disclaimer about the changes between the short story and the full length novel.

message 142: by Carolyn (new)

2624012 I've read - Hunting Ground, Cry Wolf, Mood Called, Bone Crossed, Iron Kissed, Blood Bound, On the Prowl, Raven's Shadow and Hob's Bargain. I have the other ones, but didn't care for Raven's Shadow very much so that put the breaks on finishing her other books. I still have them in my To Be Read stack but moved on to another author for a while.
