1658252 Maybe on HBO or one of the other Movie channels. That way they don't have to leave out some of the good stuff.

2801674 Favorite series! I would love to see this be made into a TV series. I would pick a TV series over a movie because with a movie they would be rushed to tell the story while with a series they could take their time to get it right. Well that's if they don't screw up the script. It of course would need to be done on HBO or Showtime because there are some scenes they cannot leave out

1570669

Ghostwalkers is my fave CF series, too.

1570669 LOL, Dehvotion.

I agree, Whyz. Kadan is freaking hot!

Mine too, I think. I still like the Carpathians, and Burning Wild was burning hot! But Ghostwalkers just do it to... errr.... for me.

LOL...can't blame you. The man is sizzling hot.

1570669 Gator was adorable. He was perfect for Flame. That book has some really touching, almost hard to read parts. You know, I started off the year reading the Ghostwalkers? It's not wonder I'm hooked on CF as a writer. These were my first books by her.

434780 Who wouldn't like a charming Cajun rogue like Gator with a soft spot for animals and extremely loyal to family? :)

1113032 I loved him... he was so funny yet serious when he needed to be.

message 504: by Yz the Whyz (new)

434780 Yep. Gator's was the third book.

You summed it up perfectly! I wish I had the books in front of me. Was there a character named Gator who was raised by his grandmother/aunt in the bayou? I loved that story!

*wonders what part Danielle is rereading*

*grins*

1570669 Yes, indeed. I love how the H/h are humans, not immortals or supernatural creatures. I like that the reasons for their abilities are scientific, but they are also somewhat superhuman. Great action and romance. I love how tortured the characters are, and the bonds between the heroes and heroines. I think Christine Feehan really hit it out of the park with this series.

1113032 Aren't they awesome? That series was crossed me over from PNR to straight suspense/romance.

1570669 I am so excited for Street Game!

Whyz, I found a cheap copy of Murder Game, and I am spot re-reading it before bed. I am so addicted to those Ghostwalkers. :)

434780 I will definitely be picking up a copy. :)

Street Game comes out on 12/29! I'm soooooooooooo excited.

434780 Feehan's Ghostwalkers series is one I want to reread, too. I think I've reread Jesse and Kadan's books several times and some scenes from the others.

1570669 I wish I had more time for rereads. I do read scenes from books. I've done that a lot with the Ghostwalker books by CF.

message 494: by Yz the Whyz (new)

434780 LOL...I'll reread a BDB book at the slightest excuse.

1570669 Wow, Whyz! You're really making me want to reread DL sooner rather than later. :)

message 492: by Yz the Whyz (new)

434780 Danielle says: That's what I'm hoping, Yz. I didn't really connect with Wrath and Beth. Now that I know and love them, I bet I will love this book, when I get a chance to reread it.
. "

Oh, yes. Reading DL after knowing what everybody have gone through, makes it more interesting.

Beth and Wrath's relationship after seeing their struggle in Lover Avenged, Butch and V hanging out in Darius spare bedroom after knowing what they have become to each other, Zsadist's actions after knowing what torment he had gone through in the latter books.

I think DL becomes more meaningful then. Reading it for the first time, it seems just like another PNR novel. Reading it again, after knowing the Brotherhood, and everything takes on different nuances.

You are so welcome Sister Mine *hugs back*

1570669 My sister got me into the BDB. Surprisingly, she was blah about DL, and I really enjoyed it and got sucked into the series (it was a four star read).

1113032 With the BDB, the romance plays a big part but the war the Brothers are fighting is also such a big part that you can't really say romance overshadows the rest of the story. Though the romance is good. All you can do is KKEEEEPPP READING!!!!!!!! (as the WARDen likes to tell us all)

message 481: by Kat (new)

689255 I am just starting this series with Dark Lover. I actually began it last night and read almost half of it before going to bed. So far, so good.

I am fairly new to the PNR genre, as romance isn't my thing really... I think that I am going to like it.... just as long as the romance doesn't get "harlequin" on me :)

1113032 Yz wrote: "For me, DL got better after you've read all the books. Then when you go back and reread it, its actually more enjoyable."

I agree! I think part of it is because you've had a chance throughout the other books to get to know Beth and Wrath better, so you're already attached to them during the re-read of Dark Lover. Also, there's been so much storyline progression during the subsequent books that as you re-read Dark Lover you already know what Wrath is up against and can better relate to his own feelings regarding the Brothers and their war against the Lessers.

434780 For me, DL got better after you've read all the books. Then when you go back and reread it, its actually more enjoyable.

message 478: by Tara (new)

2390440 I wonder if I'll still think DL is the worse book when I reread them...

message 477: by Alycia (new)

1223439 I'm not saying Dark Lover was a bad book, just not my favorite. And its main purpose was to set up the world and characters for you. It really was like a long introduction. But the books do get better and better in my opinion and I definitely have my favorites.

message 476: by Mel (new)

2295424 Worse novel? Really? That makes me so mad. Okay, there is less romance in it than a regular PNR book, but it wasn't a regular PNR book anymore anyway. I'm glad the WARDen went the UF way cause she brings much more depth and complexity to her universe.
Pooh... the votes were probably given by people who thought a story that wasn't as simple as 'boy meets girl, boy gets girl' was too difficult for them to keep up with.

1742058 Hi, just bought the first book of the series this month while doing Christmas shopping and am hoping to start it over the holidays. The series sounds good and I like how there is a compaion book The Black Dagger Brotherhood An Insider's Guide as well.

1113032 Danielle "The Book Huntress" wrote: "Alycia is right. Dark Lover is probably the weakest book, IMHO, although some fans don't care for Lover Enshrined."

Yep! I'm there, too. I think Dark Lover was the weakest of the series but that's the curse that goes along with being the first novel in a series.

In 2007, LoverEnshrined won the WORSE novel of the year by the readers at All About Romance.

I wouldn't go that far, myself. It was still good though I was very upset with Phury but have recently reconsidered my poistion with him. Heh heh heh. "my position with him..." Ummm... I mean... I took a hard at him as a whole and see that I was too hard on him.

1570669 Alycia is right. Dark Lover is probably the weakest book, IMHO, although some fans don't care for Lover Enshrined.

1592383 I just finished the first book, and I have to say I liked it more than I was expecting, especially after the first half.
I will keep reading because I'm curios about everyone else and what happens next.

1570669 Welcome to the new BDB addicts. I gots to remember to check all my BDB threads, all over GRs, more often.

2763463 oooohhh ok yeah i will read it. thanks 4 that!

I think since each book is mostly about the romance and a happily ever after, the Brothers fall so hard and want to be better for their shellans that they are willing to change themselves. Like you said, Zadist changed, but it was not a quick change and he constantly works on keeping himself together. A great illustration of this is the novella "Father Mine" in the official guide. I totally recommend reading it if you haven't already.

2763463 is it just me or do some of the brothers (wrath, zsadist) change too quickly. like they are a couple of hundred years old and have been having the same troiubles (especially zsadist) for a couple of hundred years, yet when a woman comes along everything seems to disappear within a week.
dont get me wrong i LOVE this series - its one of my favourites, but it just strikes me as odd how they can overcome such fears so quickly
