You can read this The Cartographer Wasps and the Anarchist Bees by
E. Lily Yu here.

A well told story. I enjoyed it though you could argue it borrowed heavily from similar tales and stories about insects. Still entertaining.

Warren | 1275 comments Thanks. I like it as well.
I can see it ending up in a collection of fables.

Jenny (Reading Envy) (readingenvy) | 1818 comments Loved this, it reminded me of Valente and not just because of the maps. Like a positive version of Animal Farm. I would choose this one to win.

terpkristin | 2848 comments I think I'd have liked this a bit more with a different narrator. Her voice annoyed me, it was too breathy. And she was weird.

I thought the story itself was good but it felt unfinished. I didn't really see how the townspeople tied in. The story of the village/the big people could have been left out and I'd have been happier. Or it should have been saved for a larger story.

Charles | 248 comments It was good until a certain point.

Warren | 1275 comments Since several of the nominations were of this elk (verging on morality plays) I think this story has a good shot at winning.
I'm not expressing my preference, just making an observation.
This year they seem to like fables.
