I'm reading The Hunger Games right now and find myself sneaking back to it at every opportunity. Like when my boss steps out for a cigarette break, I can fit in 2 or 3 pages. :)
I have from the library:
Shiver (LOVING it!)
Light Fell
The Hunger Games
Wildwood Dancing
the two The Rabbi's Cat graphic novels
got from Amazon (for Hanukah):
Leviathan
Teach Like Your Hair's on Fire
New Tricks
ARCs:
The Coral Thief
The Love Ceiling

Well, the library book sale was a disappointment. It was $5.00 for a box of books, which would have been nice IF the had books I was looking for. I ended up getting some Keri Arthur books, but it was for a series I haven't read the first book for. The majority of the books I picked-up were cozy mysteries for my mom. I'm pretty much cut off from buying any books until after Christmas unless I find something new.
I bought (well, it was free for the Kindle) Wit'ch Fire and I am loving it. It is a four book series so I guess I won't be reading anything more this month.
My library is having its annual used book sale tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be able to find something good.
I bought Joey Hill's A Mermaid's Ransom. I'm a big fan of hers, although I prefer her Vampire series. But this is much more PNR not to mention the romantic erotica.
I just made my first December book purchase at Book Depository...
and Me and My Shadow by Katie MacAlister
I bought these yesterday
Murder on Astor Place by Victoria Thompson
Maisie Dobbs by Jacqueline Winspear
Confessions of a Demon by SL Wright
High Seas Cthulhu Swashbuckling Adventure Meets the Mythos an anthology of Lovecraftian esque sea stories.
North of Beautiful by Justina Chen Headley
I think I bought a couple of others too.
I got from Amazon last week:
Dancing on the Head of a Pin
Unleashed
Mean Streets which will come after 1/11/10
Hobart the Book Village:
Fingersmith
See Under Love
Half a Yellow Sun
The Tennis Partner
PBS:
Cards of Grief
The Brimstone Journals

Theresa, I started the first book in the series & just couldn't get into it. I ended up putting it on hold back in October & have thought about picking it back up, but all of my library requests have hit at once.
Rhonda wrote: "ice by linda howard and the dome by stephen king."
Rhonda, if you started The Dome, how is it I'm debating weather I should buy it or not?
Melodie,
You asked in #175 what I thought of Where Men Win Glory. I *loved* it, but author has a political POV I agree with. All people don't. There are lots of reviews here and on Amazon that may help you decide whether it's for your husband.
some books I picked up from the library: The Hunger Games -Suzanne Collins
Harry Potter and The Sorcerers Stone - J.K Rowling
Graceling- Kristin Cashore
The Battle of Jericho- Sharon M Draper (not fantasy)
Looking for Alaska- John Green (no fantasy but very good)
An Abundance of Katherines- Johne Green (not fantasy)
A Great and Terrible Beauty - Libba Bray
Englycopidia of Things That Never Were - Micheal Page Robert Ingpen
Fairies and Elves (someone tore the page out with the authors name smh TSK horrible)
The Great Encyclopedia of Faeries- Pierre Bubois
BOOKS BOUGHT
Twilight- Stephenie Meyer
Wicked- Gregory Meguire
Vampire Academy- Richelle Mead
Marked- P.C Cast and Kristin Cast
Vampire Diaries The Awakening - L.J. Smith

Levi- I haven't read Hush Hush yet, but TFOHAT and City of Ashes rocked! Those were really really good.
Has anyone read Amanda Downum's
The Drowning City?? It sound like an interesting read. I'm thinking about buying it and wanted to get some feedback before I buy it? Anyone??

Let us know what you think of the Krakauer book, Julia. I've been thinking about buying it for my husband.
In November I've so far read:
1. Gil's All Fright Diner by A. Lee Martinez
2. Urban Shaman by C.E. Murphy
3. Thinking Straight by Robin Reardon
4. Manhood for Amateurs: The Pleasure and Regrets of a Husband, Father and Son by Michael Chabon
5. All He Ever Wanted by Anita Shreve
6. Burned by Ellen Hopkins
currently reading:
Planning to read:
Crank by Ellen Hopkins reading now
Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood
Just picked up Graceling from the library (YA) and Charline Harris' Grave Secret, her latest Harper Connolley (sp?) mystery. Her writing is so tight and fluid without any bit of overblown prose. I love it. Of course I first have to get through the rest of Walking Dead by CE Murphy and Magic in the Blood by Devon Monk (also both library books). My poor store bought books have to sit neglected because of due dates. If there's ever a cataclysm and I'm forced to remain in my house indefinitely I'll have plenty of books stored up to read (LOL).
My birthday is the end of this month and I'm definately asking for a truck load of different books, if not that some B&N gift cards. :D I can't wait!!!

It is her first published novel, though she has extensive short fiction published.
Hope you find other books you love. :o)

I didn't know Aguirre was starting to publish under another name. I'll have to check that out.
