290438 Liz, I haven't read anything by Charles Stanley in years. What did you think of this one?

message 57: by Liz (new)

1472632 I actually liked it. I havent read anything by him since the early 90s. There was nothing new here, however, it was a nice refresher, and I liked the way he talked about his personal life & his divorce.

message 58: by Kay, Your Humble Servant (new)

290438 Hmmm, I didn't know he was divorced. Sounds sad . . .

Liz, I was woefully unaware if this biography. Looks like it's a meaty read - would you recommend it? Did you find it highly technical?

message 68: by Liz (new)

1472632 Hi Kay,

I think this one was too technical. It talked about his life, but it also talked about his work, which lost me some. So I cannot recommend this as a first Einstein read. There is another book I would recommend. I have to admit I did not finish this one, but from what I read, it is mainly about his life and just that.

Einstein The Life and Times by Ronald W. Clark

This is a much better biography and if you're going to read something meaty about him, this one would be best.

1472632 59. The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks

The Last Song

OK...I've read a few Sparks books now, mainly the new releases. This read like a Young Adult novel, and it was not classified as one, so I was confused. I have to admit, if I had known that, I would have not read it. I have to be in the mood to read about 18 year olds in love. The relationships the children had with the adults was not enough to hold my interest. Not one of my favorite books by him, but it was a decent read.

message 70: by Andrea (new)

1983465 thanks for the review Liz! I'm glad I didn't buy this one in hardcover. I do love Sparks, but I'm on a book diet!
