Yoko Ogawa/小川 洋子 could use help combining French, Arabic, English, and German translations of the Japanese original works.
Hi!
I don't know if my qusetion belongs here or with the author list, it's a language-thing, though. ;)
This Author Alexander Dumas is clearly the same one as him here: Alexandre Dumas
the only difference is that the first one is the German spelling of his name.
Can I simply merge them (and keep the second one of course), or will fans of the author or so be lost in the process? Or will the German spelling come back via amazon or so?
Thank you! :)
Right now the link is giving me an 'unexpected error occurred' message. We'll have to wait until it's fixed.
Hello,I'm a new librarian and I'm cleaning up a bit of wrong data concerning German author Heinrich Böll.
There's this entry that I really can't place since it's in a language I don't recognise (and Google was not helpful), and I'd really like to combine it with the right book by Böll:

Any help would be appreciated!

Well, I can only read the kanji (as they're the same as Chinese words), but I'd lean toward yes, it is Quidditch Through the Ages.
Can someone who reads Japanese help me please? This is not Harry Potter #6. An online translation tells me it is Quidditch Through the Ages. Is that correct?

Can someone who speaks Russian tell me if these two authors are the same?

Thank you!
JG wrote: "Can someone who speaks Dutch combine Ruimte binnenshuis, if possible? Thanks!"
Ruimte binnenshuis is a novella, published as a special edition, and can't be combined.
Agatha Christie needs combining help with Japanese .Thanks!(It needs help with Persian & Arabic as well, but I'll do that myself.)

Danke! ;)"
I did what I could at work.. the rest will have to wait till I´m home...;)
Thanks! That would explain why it hadn't been combined. There isn't another version with those books paired together. I added a librarian note to clarify.
Can someone translate the title Schattenkuss / Nachtschwärmer, attributed to Laurell K. Hamilton? Looks German, but I'm not sure.

That's the screenplay "End of line" of which there's no English ..."
Thanks!

I did what I could for the German versions... but I´m sorry I couldn´t find out which English book is "Endstation"...
vitalinew wrote: ""Francisco de Quevedo y Villegas" needs a lot of help from Spanish speaking librarian. "I did what could. BTW, I changed all the versions of his name that I could find to Francisco de Quevedo. This version was most popular, and matches both Wikipedia and Worldcat. I also added some bio info.
I combined all the versions I could find of his novel "El Buscon", and some other items that seemed to go together. I didn't do anything with the poetry collections since I wasn't sure that they would all have the same contents, even with the same name.
If someone with better Spanish wants to do some googling to try to combine these, that would be great.
vitalinew wrote: "I found the summary. Is it "Once Upon A Star"? "Thanks, vitalinew! That's the right one :)
Fumiko Enchi's works might be combined a little more by someone who reads Japanese; I combined the French and English titles, but I can't match them to any Japanese ones.
For those of you who know other languages:Pearl S. Buck could use some translation combining help.
I saw a lot of German titles, some French, some Spanish, Arabic (I think...guessing on that one), and maybe some others.
Can anybody tell me what Nora Roberts book this is:Era Uma Vez Estrella
I can't find any information on it at all. Even a summary or character names would help if an original title can't be found.
Jung could use quite a bit of language-specific help. German, definitely. I think a bit of French and Spanish, and some Farsi/Arabic too.
Ronny, since the book is in English and shows the romanized name on the cover, I'd suggest changing it to "Yukio Mishima". Japanese-language editions I would leave with "三島 由紀夫", though, so that users who enter that name into the search engine will find the author.(I usually leave names in completely different character sets alone (in hopes that the "also known as" feature will someday allow combining) except for a note in each author profile pointing to the other one. If there are two editions that I really want combined, I do this: edit one to show the other's version of the author's name, combine the editions, then edit that edition again to restore the previous name.)
The name Yukio Mishima in this book (and many others) is written in Japanese alphabet:http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/63829...
Thus, they can't be combined with the other language editions. (The book itself is in English).
Is there a protocol about how to input Japanese authors' name?
Jostein Gaarder could use some help in this language:مرد داستان فروش , which I do believe is Persian?

I combined the Sandra Brown German translations. (...) I think they might be Portuguese, not sure,(...)
This one is Obsessão I don't know the original book but I guess is The Crush.
The description of Obsessão states smth like: "The phone rings at the house of Lee Howell a surgeon, after a party. Due to a serious trafic accident, his presence is requested at the Fort Worth General Hospital".
Somebody identifies this ???
