Colleen (Kolleen) | 3 comments Hi! I've been trying to remember the title of a very enjoyable, well-written book that takes place in China. I believe it was written by a journalist and was dedicated to "Colleen." A girl has the rare opportunity to visit Communist China in the 1970s as a student (perhaps studying at a university in Beijing) and then returns to the country decades later with her family to try to track down and find out what happened to a fellow female student she met there in the 70s. The story describes the modernization of the country very well. I read the book in about 2008 and believe it was fairly new then. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

(But that book looks good. I've just added it to my to-read list!)
