1760512 Beyond the Suffering: Embracing the Legacy of African American Soul Care and Spiritual Direction

Beyond the Suffering is a unique bi-culturally co-authored book (African American female and Caucasian male). It explores stirring narratives of scores of heroes of Black Church history.

Related to that vital theme, here's a question for our group:

Is Black History Month helpful or harmful to the cause of historical fairness for African Americans?

Some say, "Every day and every month should be equally focused on Black History and other histories otherwise African Americans just get 28 days!"

Some say, "Having a special month for Black History positively reminds all Americans of the great legacy...one they then can celebrate the rest of the year."

What do you think?
