It may seem hard to have to deal with a bit of a distance between eachother, but I know from personal experience that if you guys hang out at least once a month there's a very good chance that the two of you will stay close friends.

I went through a bad depression in 4-6 grades. It was a bad time to get like that and now I think it's almost completely behind me. But because of it I was under the impression that I was a inferior lowlife that no one liked. I now realize that I was a blind idiot but it's hard to give up my barriers cause I'm scared something will knock me over if I let them down.

And he isn't mean to me, he's just more vocal than I am and is from what Ryan (my crazy ADHD friend, his best friend) tells me he really really likes me, but again, I have a hard time trusting.

why is that you have self esteem issues you seem like a very nice person so i don't see why he could ever bee rudse to you ^_^ well try to open up more ^_^

No, it doesn't suck to like him, it's just the whole situation makes me feel like I'm backed into a corner, and I don't trust him, or myself enough to just go with it. I have some self esteem issues, for one.
