Janet Chapman has a Highlander Series, but only #1 and #4 have any actual time-travel. The rest refer to the time-travel that happened in #1.1

Great series. I agree, not really much actual time travel in them, but the highlanders are from the past, and have been living in the 21st century for only a few years. They end up in Novia Scotia and remote Maine. They fall in love with modern intelligient woman. They are sexy and sometimes hilarious warriors who have adpated to this new world and but are still adapting to independent woman. Very cute. I was really charmed by them.
I read all 6. I was disapointed too. I thought the first 3 were the best, with the original highlanders. 4 was ok with Robbie's story, and it had actual time travel. "Only with a highlander" (#5) was ok, it wrapped it up for me. It was Winter's story and she was to be the druid's protege. It had a big finale. I thought 6 was reaching and that the story line had pretty much run it's course.

I agree as well. The first three were great and then they kinda petered out. Kinda like the author ran out of ideas. Still worth reading though.
There is a 7th book, Moonlight Warrior which features the highlander that was trapped as a panther - Kenzie Gregor. I bought this but haven't gotten around to reading it yet. I hope she got her game back and it's a good one.
