2267186 I just finished The Time Traveler's Wife. I wasn't bored by it like most of the group here. I found the hopping around confusing and I had to keep referring back to see when something happened. I almost felt like I needed to take notes to keep up with when Henry was how old he visited Clare when she was such and so age. I felt like the book could have been written much better. I haven't seen the movie, I'm not sure how they could truly portray the book. I want Audrey Niffenegger to write Alba's story now without all the confusion.

2231544 I am going to have to agree with the group here, the book was boring in the sense of dragging and the characters didn't touch me to the point of caring about them. I thought well, maybe I am just too confused to really get into it, so when the movie came out I went to see it. I cried through the whole thing because what the book couldn't bring to life the movie kinda did. However, I can say there were parts in the movie that dragged on as well, however over all, not a bad story. It could be I actually liked the actors that played the characters in the movie and that may have helped me to enjoy the story more.

2669490 Thank goodness I'm not the only one who felt this book was boring. I couldn't get into the characters either. I finally got so bored with it that I skipped the last 50 pages and read the ending. It just wasn't exciting for me.

1968285 Me too! And there was nothing to like about either one of them. He was too flighty and she spent her pitiful life waiting for him to show up again. How lame!

795024 Yep. I can't waiting for a point to it all, but it seems the point was just to show us their lives. That only works for me if I care about the characters.

1968285 Exactly! There just wasn't any substance to that huge book. It went on and on and on and said absolutely nothing. What a waste.

795024 I read this and, though I liked the idea behind it, the characters never really came to life for me. I couldn't connect to them.

1968285 I read this and kinda liked it. It was also boring and not much point to the time travel part of it. I only read it because it was a book selected for me from another group as a pick-it-for-me selection.
I certainly wouldn't read anything else by this author.

669573 I tried to read "The Time Traveler's Wife," but it was just not for me. I enjoyed reading other's reviews that enjoyed it and it does my heart good to see differing opinions from other perspectives.
