1) The worst reading experience that you have ever had?
The Twilight Saga
2) The best reading experience you have ever had?
I really enjoy being able to read a series straight through. A few months ago I read all the Harry Potter books straight through and I'm currently reading A Series of Unfortunate Events.
3) Which book has affected or influenced you the most so far?
I don't think any one specific book has influenced me. Reading in general has made me want to become an English Lit teacher and made me want to write.
4) Have you ever read a book that you got really scared of?
When I was younger, I tried reading The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty and it really freaked me out, as did the movie. I could probably read it now and be okay, but it really scared me when I was, like, 11.
5) What do you use as a bookmark?
Usually I steal bookmarks from the library or use whatever pieces of paper I happen to find. I have recently decided to start collecting bookmarks and I just bought a few today. The one I'm using right now is a really nifty Slytherin House Banner. :D
6) When do you usually read? At home, work, while cooking, in the morning, noon, afternoon, before you go to bed...?
All of the above, lol. Usually I read at night, on my breaks at work, and in between my classes while I'm at school. I also am known to read during commercials when I'm watching TV and in the car (while in the passenger's seat, of course).
7) Do you remember the first book that you read?
Oh, gosh, no. I'm sure it was Dr. Seuss something-or-other. I've been reading since I was about 3.
8) Which do you prefer - paperback or hardcover?
Paperback. They're cheaper and easier to cram together. However, if I'm collecting a series and have one in hardback, I have to have them all in hardback. I'm picky that way. :D
9) What are you currently reading? What page are you on?
I'm currently reading A Series of Unfortunate Events, Book the Thirteenth: The End by Lemony Snicket. I'm on page 93.
10) Do you ever leave "a mark" (deliberate and/or not deliberate) in your books? For example, write in them, underline quotes, coffeemarks or food crumbs and etc.
God, no! Writing or marking in books makes me feel dirty. I try to be really careful when eating or drinking while reading my books--I'm so picky about them.
11) Does the title, amount of pages and the cover affect you when you are considering a specific book?
The title and the cover photo/artwork is usually the first thing that attracts me to a book, especially when I'm just browsing in the bookstore, but I always read the back of the book to make sure it's something I want to spend my money on.
12) Do you ever browse through to the last pages in order find out the ending?
I try really hard not to. Sometimes it just happens, though...I have a habit of wanting to read the last sentence first. :D
13) Have knowing the ending of a book (example, through spoilers or a movie) ever made you decide whether you will read the book or not?
Not usually, because the books are always, always, always soo much better than the movies, so if I liked the movie, I'm usually pretty sure I'll love the book.
14) Is there a book that you have read more than five times?
Definitely. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, ftw!
15) Have you ever been in an accident where the book was the cause? (for example, almost getting hit by a car when reading while walking, or having stacks of books falling on you from a bookshelf...)
No. Books are my friends. They would never hurt me. :D
16) Do you sell/give away your books or do you keep them, even though you don't like one of them?
I keep most everything. If it's something I've grown out of already, I'll probably give it to one of my nieces or nephews, but I like keeping my books, even if they are taking over my room.
17) Do you bring with you the book when needing to use the toilet? Do you ever read in the bathroom?
Sometimes I take a book with me when I take a bubble bath. :D
18) Do you have some kind of book system, where you write down what you are reading, have bought, will read, will buy and etc? (goodreads doesn't count ;))
I have a book list of books that I want to read. It's massive and I'm only about halfway done writing it. I also have a list of books that I want to read in my lifetime that didn't make it into my comprehensive list, like 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die, Time Magazine's 100 Best Novels Since 1923, and various other lists I've found.
19) Do you keep a reading diary/journal?
No, but I have a list. And I recently started a blog where I'm going to write book reviews.
