message 93: by Lori, Super Mod (new)

369169 Doni, are you nominating that book, because the nomination time ended a few days ago. Please go to the polls to vote on the two novels you would like to see chosen as our group reads.

message 92: by Leila (new)

1238671 Ohhhh...I don't know what to vote for. So many excellent choices.

message 91: by Doni (new)

1089376 The Master Planets by Donald Gallinger. Half the Amazon reviewers say they read it in one day. I know I did. It's beautifully crafted, too. The best new book I read in 2008, DEFINITELY.

message 79: by Laura (new)

1394928 Thanks Lori! Great idea.

message 78: by Atishay (new)

1595626 Yeah, that's cool Lori.

message 77: by Lori, Super Mod (new)

369169 OK, I created two polls, one for christmas/holiday/winter themed novels, and one for non-holiday related novels....

I decided to do this for two reasons.
1- We had alot of books to choose from this month.
2- We will have the chance to vote twice, instead of only once.

Polls are open now for voting, they will be closed on November 30th. You can access the polls at the bottom of the group home page (click more) or on the far right hand side of the group, click the link for polls.

happy voting everyone!

message 76: by Leila (new)

1238671 Lori, I think that sounds like an excellent idea :)

message 75: by Kellie (new)

842772 Good idea!

message 74: by Hayes (new)

1724711 Oh that's good too!

message 73: by Fiona (Titch) (new)

402486 Yes, sounds like a great idea Lori xx

message 72: by Lori, Super Mod (new)

369169 Orrr... I could create two polls. One with all the christmas themed novels, and one with all the non-christmas novels. Then we could vote twice, and will have the opportunity to read both.....?????

How does that sound?

message 71: by Andrew (new)

1417440 Yes, I agree as well. I think it is a Marvolous (sp?) Idea.

message 70: by Atishay (new)

1595626 I agree with Hayes, that way it'll be easier to eliminate.

message 69: by Hayes (new)

1724711 Just a thought...
it's an awfully long list. Would it be a good idea to do two rounds of voting? In other words, everyone votes on the first round. Then the top 10 winners (8, 12, 5...) go to the finals.

message 68: by Lori, Super Mod (new)

369169 Tomorrow, I will create a poll for these books, and will open a thread to announce when it is ready. We will leave the voting open for a week, and then top two books will be chosen as the December Group Reads.

Thanks everyone!
